Antiferromagnetic magnons possess high speed and are immune to external disturbance, making them promising for future magnonic circuits. In this Letter, we report the observation of gapless magnons in an easy-axis antiferromagnet alpha-Fe2O3 at low tempera ...

Using a three-current model (i.e. heat, spin-up and spin-down electrons) the thermodynamics of irreversible processes predicts that a temperature gradient gives rise to a spin current on large scales, in particular under the conditions used to measure the ...

Strong coupling of electromagnetic cavity fields with antiferromagnetic spin waves in hematite (alpha-Fe2O3) is achieved above room temperature. A cube of hematite is placed in a metallic tube and the transmission is measured, using a continuous-wave terah ...

Method for detecting a change in molecular tumbling of an electron-spin labelled system (1) in solution. Nuclear spins of the entire solution are measured in solution using Overhauser dynamic nuclear polarization in a first reference measurement, and then ...

Detection of the second harmonic response of magnetic nanostructures to an ac current is shown to be a very sensitive probe of the magnetization reversal process. A temperature oscillation is obtained by Joule heating instead of using a laser as the heat s ...

A rigorous quantum description of molecular dynamics with a particular emphasis on internal observables is developed accounting explicitly for kinetic couplings between nuclei and electrons. Rotational modes are treated in a genuinely quantum framework by ...

This chapter covers some of the key concepts of spintronics, including spin accumulation in non-colinear magnetic configurations.
