Prof. van der Goot Group

The Laboratory of Cell and Membrane Biology, headed by Prof. Gisou van der Goot at EPFL, focuses on various aspects of cell and membrane biology. Research topics include studying the dynamics of S-palmitoylated proteins, membrane contact sites, host cell pathways hijacked by toxins, and roles of anthrax toxin receptors. The lab investigates anthrax toxin to understand eukaryotic endocytic pathways, collaborating with other research groups. They also explore cell compartmentalization, particularly related to post-translational modifications like palmitoylation, and investigate Hyaline Fibromatosis Syndrome. The team's work contributes to advancing knowledge in cellular and membrane biology.
