Image and Visual Representation Laboratory

The Laboratory of Images and Visual Representation (IVRL) at EPFL focuses on research in computational photography, color image processing, computer vision, and image quality. They develop algorithms and systems to enhance the understanding, processing, and measurement of color images. IVRL investigates fundamental components of images, human visual system properties, and physics to optimize image quality. Collaborating with experts from various fields, they aim to improve visual perception in photography and video through innovative imaging systems, algorithms, and models. Their research is supported by the Swiss National Science Foundation and the Hasler Foundation.
