Transport of ionic species solvated in electrolytes depends on temperature. This dependence is much stronger in nanofluidics than large scale since the surface charge also varies with temperature. In this work, we introduce a new tool for the modulation of ionic transport inside nanochannels based on the effect of temperature. This effect can be used in the gating of nanochannels with comparable effectiveness as other gating mechanisms.
