Deep understanding of the chemical reaction and physical transport characteristics of 6-methyl-5-hepten-2-one (6-MHO) in different phases (e.g., skin, clothing) is important for modeling the indoor squalene/ozone reaction. In this study, we make the first ...

Biogas, a renewable energy source, is primarily composed of CH4 and CO2. It is a promising alternative to fossil fuels and can be used directly for electricity production as well as heat generation via combustion. Concerns about climate change and a greate ...

Marker-based Optical Motion Capture (OMC) systems and associated musculoskeletal (MSK) modelling predictions offer non-invasively obtainable insights into muscle and joint loading at an in vivo level, aiding clinical decision-making. However, an OMC system ...

Shifted Excitation Raman Difference Spectroscopy (SERDS) is a non-destructive chemical analysis method capable of removing the fluorescence background and other disturbances from the Raman spectrum, thanks to the independence of the fluorescence with respe ...

In this work, we develop and study superconducting materials for a broadband microwave single-photon detector for wide-range applications in superconducting quantum devices. Ideal materials of this type should have a superconducting gap of the order of 10 ...

This paper studies the continuous-domain inverse problem of recovering Radon measures on the one-dimensional torus from low-frequency Fourier coefficients, where K (c) is the cutoff frequency. Our approach consists in minimizing the total-variation norm am ...

A search for the decay B-0 -> phi mu(+) mu(-) is performed using proton-proton collisions at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8, and 13 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1). No evidence for the B-0 -> ...

Microswimmers are ubiquitous in nature and present highly-dynamic collective motion. This study presents computational simulations of spheroidal model-microswimmers confined between two walls, revealing two collective dynamic states, giant motile clusters ...

A long, narrow, relativistic charged particle bunch propagating in plasma is subject to the self -modulation (SM) instability. We show that SM of a proton bunch can be seeded by the wakefields driven by a preceding electron bunch. SM timing reproducibility ...

Machine learning (ML) techniques applied to quantum many-body physics have emerged as a new research field. While the numerical power of this approach is undeniable, the most expressive ML algorithms, such as neural networks, are black boxes: The user does ...
