Tanja Christina Käser JacoberTanja Käser is an assistant professor at the EPFL School of Computer and Communication Sciences (IC) and head of the D-VET laboratory. Her research lies at the intersection of machine learning, data mining, and education. She is particularly interested in creating accurate models of human behavior and learning.Prior to joining EPFL, Tanja Käser was a senior data scientist with the Swiss Data Science Center at ETH Zurich. Before that, she was a postdoctoral researcher with the AAALab at the Graduate School of Education of Stanford University.
Tanja Käser received her PhD degree from the Computer Science Department of ETH Zurich. In her dissertation, completed at the Computer Graphics Laboratory, she focused on user modeling and data mining in education, which was honored with the Fritz Kutter Award 2015.
Christian GiangChristian Giang is a researcher at the Machine Learning for Education Laboratory (ML4ED), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and the Laboratory for Technology and Media in Education, University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI). He received the PhD degree in Robotics from EPFL and the BSc and MSc degrees in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from ETH Zürich. His research focuses on the use of educational technologies in formal education.
Yegor PiskarevExpertise
Medical Device Engineering & Development: I have hands-on experience in the complete lifecycle of medical device development, from concept to preclinical validation and regulatory compliance. I led the design and development of three cardiac ablation catheters, which are class III medical devices, meeting strict FDA and MDR/MDD requirements. Currently, I am overseeing the transition of an ENT medical device from proof-of-concept to a commercial product, including establishing a quality management
Jauwairia NasirI am a doctoral candidate and a Marie Curie ITN Fellow in the field of Robotics at Computer-Human Interaction for Learning and Instruction Lab at EPFL where I currently work towards building Human-Robot Interaction technologies, leveraging AI, to help improve learning environments for kids. I did my Masters in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from KAIST, South Korea and my Bachelors in Electronics Engineering from School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences (SEECS) NUST in Pakistan. During my Bachelors and Masters degrees, my research revolved around path planning algorithms for mobile robots and autonomous household robots for elderly, respectively. As the Women in AI (WAI) Education Lead in Switzerland, I organize WAI educational activities in the country such as WaiCAMPs and am also a part of WAI’s Global Education Task Force. I am passionate about causes such as safe and unbiased AI, education for all, and discrimination free society.
