Amaury obtained his Master's degree in Robotics from the Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL) in 2021.Before joining IMOS, he worked for multiple years at Logitech Europe S.A. as a Software Engineer in the field of Augmented and Virtual Reality. He researched 6DoF tracking solutions for handheld devices, developed the firmware and designed the testing strategy for the MR Stylus MX Ink.During his
Brice Tanguy Alphonse LecampionI am currently an assistant Professor and the head of the Geo-Energy Lab - Gaznat Chair on GeoEnergy at Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), Switzerland. Prior to joining EPFL, I have worked for Schlumberger in research and development from 2006 until May 2015 - serving in a variety of roles ranging from project manager to principal scientist in both Europe and the United States. I received my PhD in mechanics from Ecole Polytechnique, France in 2002 and worked as a research scientist in the hydraulic fracturing research group of CSIRO division of Petroleum resources (Melbourne, Australia) from 2003 to 2006. During my time in Schlumberger R&D, I have worked on problems related to the integrity of deep wells, large scale monitoring of reservoir deformation and more specifically on the stimulation of oil and gas wells by hydraulic fracturing. My current research interests cover hydraulic fracture mechanics, mechanics of porous media and dense suspensions flow.
Chen LiuI am a PhD candidate at the School of Computer and Communication Sciences (IC), École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), supervised by Prof. Sabine Süsstrunk and co-supervised by Dr. Mathieu Salzmann. Previously, I obtained my Master Degree from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) in 2017 and Bachelor Degree from Tsinghua University in 2015, both in Computer Science.
Boris BonevI hold degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Physics from the University of Stuttgart. During my Master studies I have specialized in the field of numerical simulation methods for fluid problems. I visited Prof. Hesthaven at EPFL in 2015 to work on my Master thesis. We worked on applying the Discontinuous Galerkin methods to the Shallow Water Equations in order to simulate large-scale Tsunami events such as the 2008 Tohoku tsunami. In February 2017 I joined MCSS as doctoral student. In my PhD thesis I study fast approximate solvers, that can be used as preconditioners for wave problems.
Nicolò RipamontiI received my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Engineering from Polytechnic University of Milan (PoliMi). During my master studies, I took part in the double degree program between EPFL and Polimi in Computational Science and Engineering which I completed with a thesis on Structure-Preserving Model Order Reduction under the supervision of Professor Hesthaven. As part of this program, I have done a six-months internship at Sony EuTEC in Stuttgart, where I worked on Compressive Sensing and Machine Learning applied to signal recovery. Following graduation in 2018, I have joined the MCSS chair as PhD student.
Anna Timonina-FarkasAnna Timonina-Farkas is a scientific researcher in the field of Operations Research and Operations Management at TOM EPFL. Her focus is on theory and data-driven solution methods in multi-stage optimization under model and decision-dependent uncertainties. Before joining EPFL, she served as a Research Scholar at the Risk, Policy and Vulnerability program at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (Vienna, Austria), developing optimal governmental strategies for natural disaster risk-managem
