The resolution of proton solid-state NMR spectra is usually limited by broadening arising from dipolar interactions between spins. Magic-angle spinning alleviates this broadening by inducing coherent averaging. However, even the highest spinning rates expe ...

The high conversion efficiency has made metal halide perovskite solar cells a real break-through in thin film photovoltaic technology in recent years. Here, we introduce a straight-forward strategy to reduce the level of electronic defects present at the i ...

Layered hybrid halide perovskites are known to be more environmentally stable than their 3D analogues. The enhanced stability is particularly relevant for Dion-Jacobson-type layered perovskites due to their promising photovoltaic performances. However, in ...

The introduction of high-frequency, high-power microwave sources, tailored biradicals, and low-temperature magic angle spinning (MAS) probes has led to a rapid development of hyperpolarization strategies for solids and frozen solutions, leading to large ga ...

One of the fundamental challenges of physical biology is to understand the relationship between protein dynamics and function. At physiological temperatures, functional motions arise from the complex interplay of thermal motions of proteins and their envir ...

The determination of intracellular drug concentrations can provide a better understanding of the drug function and efficacy. Ideally, this should be performed nondestructively, with no modification of either the drug or the target, and with the capability ...

Nuclear spin hyperpolarization of C-13-labelled metabolites by dissolution dynamic nuclear polarization can enhance the NMR signals of metabolites by several orders of magnitude, which has enabled in vivo metabolic imaging by MRI. However, because of the s ...

Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP)-enhanced solid-state NMR spectroscopy under magic-angle spinning has recently emerged as a unique analytical method to probe surfaces at atomic resolution. In this article, we first describe the basic principles of dynami ...

While 1H-1H J-couplings are the cornerstone of all spectral assignment methods in solution-state NMR, they are yet to be observed in solids. Here we observe 1H-1H J-couplings in plastic crystals of (1S)-(−)-camphor in solid-state NMR at magic angle spinnin ...

Dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) combined with high magnetic fields and fast magic angle spinning (MAS) has opened up a new avenue for the application of exceptionally sensitive 1H NMR detection schemes to study protonated solids. Recently, it has been s ...

Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) spectroscopy would be a method of choice to follow biochemical events in cells because it can analyze molecules in complex environments. However, the intrinsically low sensitivity of NMR makes in-cell measurements challengi ...

Mixtures of cations or halides with FAPbI(3) (where FA is formamidinium) lead to high efficiency in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) but also to blue-shifted absorption and long-term stability issues caused by loss of volatile methylammonium (MA) and phase se ...

Solid-state NMR spectroscopy is a widely used method for investigating structural and electronic properties of inorganic materials, but its use is often limited by low sensitivity. Here, we show how solvent-generated dynamic nuclear polarization can be use ...

Knowledge of the mechanism by which polymorphic inorganic species, such as carbonates, are formed is crucial to understand and guide the selective crystallization of end products. Recently it has been shown that a key step in the crystallization of calcium ...

We evaluate the overall sensitivity gains provided by a series of eighteen nitroxide biradicals for dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) solid-state NMR at 9.4 T and 100 K, including eight new biradicals. We find that in the best performing group the factors ...

Efficient polarizing agents for dynamic nuclear polarization (DNP) enhanced magic angle spinning (MAS) NMR spectroscopy is of high current interest due the potential to significantly boost NMR sensitivity. While most efforts have centered on cross-effect ( ...

The presence of defects at the interface between the perovskite film and the carrier transport layer poses significant challenges to the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Addressing this issue, we introduce a dual host-guest (DHG) ...
