There has been a growing interest, over the past few years, on understanding the effect on radio frequency waves due to turbulence in the scrape-off layer of tokamak plasmas. While the far scrape-off layer density width is of the order of centimetres in co ...

Fusion power is the most significant prospects in the long-term future of energy in the sense that it composes a potentially clean, cheap, and unlimited power source that would substitute the widespread traditional nonrenewable energies, reducing the geogr ...

Fusion power may be seen as the energy of the future in the sense that it composes a potentially clean, cheap and unlimited power source that would reduce the worldwide dependency on non-renewable energies. Nevertheless, while nowadays the fusion reaction ...

In magnetically confined fusion devices, the use of millimeter waves (mmw) at the electron cyclotron (EC) frequencies ranges from plasma diagnostics to plasma heating, current drive and core confinement preservation. For large tokamaks such as ITER, numeri ...

Intermittent phenomena have long been studied in the context of nondiffusive transport across a variety of fields. In the TORPEX device, the cross-field spreading of an injected suprathermal ion beam by electrostatic plasma turbulence can access different ...

High-power millimeter-waves (mmw) in the electron cyclotron range of frequencies are extensively used in fusion devices. They have become essential for a number of applications ranging from plasma heating and current drive to core confinement preservation. ...

We have designed and built an optically isolated millimeter-wave detection system to prevent interference from a nearby, powerful, 2.45 GHz microwave source in millimeter-wave propagation experiments in the TORoroidal Plasma EXperiment (TORPEX). A series o ...

The tokamak a configuration variable (TCV) continues to leverage its unique shaping capabilities, flexible heating systems and modern control system to address critical issues in preparation for ITER and a fusion power plant. For the 2019-20 campaign its c ...

We have designed and installed a new Langmuir-probe (LP) array diagnostic to determine basic three-dimensional (3D) features of plasmas in TORPEX. The diagnostic consists of two identical LP arrays, placed on opposite sides of the apparatus, which provide ...

Fractional Levy motion has been derived from its generalized Langevin equation via path integrals in earlier works and has since proven to be a useful model for nonlocal and non-Markovian processes, especially in the context of nondiffusive transport. Here ...

Understanding the propagation of high power mm-wave in plasmas is of tremendous importance in the route to fusion considering their extensive use in magnetically confined fusion devices. Mm-beams, launched from the outside of the vessel must propagate thro ...
