Olivier Claude Martin FévrierTeaching & PhD PhD Students Benjamin Yong Kwak Brown, Massimo Carpita, Garance Durr-Legoupil-Nicoud, Alysée Khan, Riccardo Ian Morgan Courses Nonlinear dynamics, chaos and complex systems PHYS-460 The course provides students with the tools to approach the study of nonlinear systems and chaotic dynamics. Emphasis is given to concrete examples and numerical applications are carried out during the exercise sessions.
Alessandro PauTeaching & PhD PhD Students Peizheng Zhang, Jean-Pierre Thomas Svantner, Cristina Venturini, Paul Véronique Guillaume Devianne Courses Control and Operation of Tokamaks PHYS-748 This course treats the main issues in operation and control of a tokamak. Control-oriented models are derived and controllers are designed using techniques from modern control theory. Operational limits are discussed as well as state-of-the-art research questions for future reactors.
Simon Van MuldersTeaching & PhD PhD Students Daniel Perales Rios, Jan Jakub Frybes Courses General physics : mechanics PHYS-101(a) Give the student the basic notions that will allow him or her to have a better understanding of physical phenomena, such as the mechanic of point masses. Acquire the capacity to analyse quantitatively the consequences of these effects with appropriate theoretical tools.
