Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have attracted a substantial interest owing to a very fast achievement of efficiencies >20 % within only several years of development. However, for any solar cell to become technologically viable, two additional milestones hav ...

Since reaching 20% efficiency, research in perovskite photovoltaics has shifted from a race for efficiency to a race for stability. For efficiency, the standard test conditions set the rules for the race. However, the term 'stability' is used very broadly ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are one of the most promising lab-scale technologies to deliver inexpensive solar electricity. Low-temperature planar PSCs are particularly suited for large-scale manufacturing. Here, we propose a simple, solution-processed te ...

Organic-inorganic lead halide perovskites have recently received significant attention as active materials for high-performance photovoltaics and photo-detectors. However, the understanding of their operation mechanism remains limited. High-gain, low-volta ...

Mixed ion perovskite solar cells (PSC) are manufactured with a metal-free hole contact based on press-transferred single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) film infiltrated with 2,2,7,-7-tetrakis(N, N-di-p-methoxyphenylamine)-9,90-spirobifluorene (Spiro-OMeTAD ...

With close to 100% internal quantum efficiency over the absorption spectrum, photocurrents in perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are at their practical limits. It is therefore imperative to improve open-circuit voltages (VOC) in order to go beyond the current 1 ...

Highly ordered, anodically grown TiO2 nanotubes on titanium supports were annealed in ammonia atmosphere in order to incorporate nitrogen doping (

Organic photovoltaic (OPV) devices often undergo 'burn-in' during the early stages of operation, this period describing the relatively rapid drop in power output before stabilising. For normal and inverted PBDTTT-EFT:PC71BM OPVs prepared according to curre ...

Perovskites have been demonstrated in solar cells with a power conversion efficiency of well above 20%, which makes them one of the strongest contenders for next generation photovoltaics. While there are no concerns about their efficiency, very little is ...

A perovskite material including an organic-inorganic perovskite structure of formula (I), AnMX3 (I), n being the number of cation A and an integer >4, A being a monovalent cation selected from inorganic cations Ai and/or from organic cations Ao, M being a ...

All of the cations currently used in perovskite solar cells abide by the tolerance factor for incorporation into the lattice. We show that the small and oxidation-stable rubidium cation (Rb+) can be embedded into a "cation cascade" to create perovskite mat ...

Today's best perovskite solar cells use a mixture of formamidinium and methylammonium as the monovalent cations. With the addition of inorganic cesium, the resulting triple cation perovskite compositions are thermally more stable, contain less phase impuri ...

Ionic liquids can retard the perovskite crystallization with the aim to form compact films with larger and more uniformly distributed grain size. The ionic liquid driven crystallization is exploited to prepared a record planar perovskite solar cell with st ...

We investigate two different types of TiO2 blocking layer (BL) deposition techniques commonly used in solid-state methylammonium lead triiodide perovskite (MaPbI(3))-based solar cells. Although these BLs lead to similar photovoltaic device performance, the ...

Hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite materials have risen up as leading components for light-harvesting applications. However, to date many questions are still open concerning the operation of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). A systematic analysis of the inte ...

The present invention concerns a device for room temperature reverse-bias operation photo-detection. The device comprising: - a planar first electrode extending in a planar direction; - a second electrode positioned above the first electrode in a direction ...
