Metallosupramolecular assemblies of the general formula M2nLn can adopt prismatic or cage‐like structures. The factors controlling the aggregation number n and the geometry of the final assembly are still not fully understood. Here, we describe the synthes ...

A ditopic carbanionic N-heterocyclic carbene was found to react with the inert gas nitrous oxide, resulting in a stable covalent adduct with two intact N2O groups attached to the heterocycle. Mesoionic N-heterocyclic carbenes derived from C2-arylated 1,3-b ...

Octahedral coordination cages of the general formula Pd6L1212 were obtained by combining Pd(CH3CN)42 with heteroditopic N-donor ligands. Four different ligands were employed. These ligands have 3-pyridyl donor groups at one end and 4-pyridyl, ...

Structural and electronic factors are crucial to rationalizethedifferent N,O or N,N chelating coordination of pyrazolones containinga pyridine ring. The reactivity of proligand 3-phenyl-1-(pyridin-2-yl)-5-pyrazolone(HLpy,ph) with the (arene)Ru(II) fragment ...

Cuboctahedral coordination cages of the general formula [Pd12L24]24+ (L = low-symmetry ligand) were analyzed theoretically and experimentally. With 350 696 potential isomers, the structural space of these assemblies is vast. Orientational self-sorting refe ...

The synthetic utility of triazenes rests on the fact that the triazene function can be cleaved by BrOnsted or Lewis acids, liberating diazonium compounds. However, the preferred coordination site of the acid is still a matter of debate. We have analyzed tr ...

In this study, we report the synthesis and full characterization of five novel ruthenium(II) cymene complexes with the general formula [Ru(cym)(L’)Cl], featuring N,O- and N,N-coordinating pyrazolone-based hydrazone ligands. We have characterized these comp ...

Nanometer-sized polycarboxylate ligands are interesting building blocks for metallasupramolecular chemistry, but access to these compounds is often limited by complicated synthetic pathways. Here, we describe a simple two-step protocol, which allows prepar ...

The power conversion efficiency of perovskite solar cells continues to increase. However, defects in perovskite materials are detrimental to their carrier dynamics and structural stability, ultimately limiting the photovoltaic characteristics and stability ...

A novel nickel pincer cofactor was recently discovered in lactate racemase. Reported here are three synthetic nickel pincer complexes that are both structural and functional models of the pincer cofactor in lactate racemase. DFT computations suggest the ip ...

All-inorganic CsPbI3 perovskite solar cells (PSCs) with efficiencies exceeding 20% are ideal candidates for appli-cation in large-scale tandem solar cells. However, there are still two major obstacles hindering their scale-up: (i) the inhomogeneous solid-s ...

Four novel polypyridine cobalt(II) complexes were developed based on a hexadentate ligand scaffold bearing either electron-withdrawing (-CF3) or electron-donating (-OCH3) groups in different positions of the ligand. Experiments and theoretical calculations ...

Triple‐stranded helicates were obtained by metal‐templated multicomponent reactions of bispyridyloxime ligands with arylboronic acids. The helicates feature two hexa‐coordinated MII ions (M=Fe, Zn, or Mn), which are embedded in a macrobicyclic ligand frame ...

Donor–acceptor cyclopropanes substituted with 3,3-dialkyltriazenyl groups are described herein. The strong electron-donating character of the triazene renders the cyclopropanes highly reactive, allowing for catalyst-free ring-opening reactions with methano ...

A new procedure for the synthesis of highly substituted 1,3-diaminopyrazoles is described. As substrates, we have employed 1-alkynyltriazenes and imines. The formation of pyrazoles was achieved by two-fold C–N coupling reactions in the presence of (JohnPho ...

Mesoionic imidazolylidenes are recognized as excellent electron-donating ligands in organometallic and main group chemistry. However, these carbene ligands typically show poor π-accepting properties. We have performed a computational analysis of 71 mesoion ...

The title complex [Co-III{(naph)(2)dpt}(bzlan)]BPh4, where (naph)(2)dpt stands for bis-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldimine)-N-dipropylenetriamine dianion and bzlan for benzylamine, has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV-Vis and H-1 NM ...

Passivation of perovskite films by ionic liquids (ILs)improves the performance (efficiency and stability) of perovskitesolar cells (PSCs). However, the role of ILs in the passivation ofperovskitefilms is not fully understood. Here, we report thereactions o ...

The intramolecular [4+2] cycloaddition between arenes and allenes first reported by Himbert gives rapid access to rigid polycyclic scaffolds. Herein, we report a one‐pot oxyalkynylation/cycloaddition reaction proceeding under mild conditions (23–90 °C) and ...

The synthesis of heterotrimetallic molecular cages is reported. The assemblies contain three types of coordination compounds: FeII clathrochelate complexes, AuI3(pyrazolate)3 complexes, and [PdII(pyridine)4]2+ complexes. The cages were obtained in a stepwi ...
