A system (10) for providing neuromodulation, especially neurostimulation, comprising - at least one neuromodulator (12) for neuromodulation of the cervical spinal cord, - at least one dorsal neuromodulation array (14) for providing neuromodulation to the c ...

The present application relates to devices and systems for rehabilitation of the locomotor system, for example limbs. In particular, the present application discloses an apparatus, more in particular a robotic platform capable of optimizing gravity-depende ...

Epidural electrical stimulation (EES) of lumbosacral segments can restore a range of movements after spinal cord injury. However, the mechanisms and neural structures through which EES facilitates movement execution remain unclear. Here, we designed a comp ...

Epidural electrical stimulation of the spinal cord elicits motor responses by recruiting large sensory afferents in the posterior roots. Divergence of excitatory inputs provided by these fibers generates a variety of shapes, latencies and amplitudes in the ...

A system (10) for neuromodulation and/or neurostimulation, for the treatment of a mammal, at least comprising: - at least one control unit (12) configured and arranged to provide stimulation data; - at least one stimulation unit (14) configured and arrange ...

Neurological disorders disrupt the equilibrium within the brain and spinal cord ecosystems. Ecology reuses, recycles, and reduces to help maintain the balance across ecosystems. Likewise, neuroprosthetics can help the brain help itself with ecoprosthetic d ...

The invention relates to the selective targeting of specific α2 adrenergic receptor subtypes for facilitating and also restoring standing and walking in a subject affected by spinal cord disorders, in particular spinal cord injury. In particular, the impro ...

Half of human spinal cord injuries lead to chronic paralysis. Here, we introduce an electrochemical neuroprosthesis and a robotic postural interface designed to encourage supraspinally-mediated movements in rats with paralyzing lesions. Despite the interru ...

Soft actuators made of highly elastic polymers allow novel robotic system designs, yet application-specific soft robotic systems are rarely reported. Taking notice of the characteristics of soft pneumatic actuators (SPAs) such as high customizability and l ...

The present invention provides a closed-loop system for real-time control of epidural and/or subdural electrical stimulation comprising: means for applying to a subject neuromodulation with adjustable stimulation parameters, said means being operatively co ...

The present invention relates to a system for planning and/or providing neuromodulation (10), especially neurostimulation, comprising - a stimulation related basic data storage module (28) for storing the stimulation related basic data, - a stimulation rel ...

The invention provides pharmaceutical compositions, combinations and vectors, such as expression vectors, as well as use thereof in a method for central nervous system repair after neurotrauma, such as spinal cord injury (SCI) or stroke and in a method for ...

The present disclosure relates to a neuromodulation and/or neurostimulation system comprising at least the following components: at least one sensing unit, at least control unit, at least one stimulation unit, at least one Central Nervous System (CNS) stim ...

Objective. Nerves in the peripheral nervous system (PNS) contain axons with specific motor, somatosensory and autonomic functions. Optogenetics offers an efficient approach to selectively activate axons within the nerve. However, the heterogeneous nature o ...
