The mid-infrared part of the optical spectrum is of high interest in a wide range of applications such as environmental gas monitoring, contaminant detection in the chemical, food or pharmaceutical industry, medical diagnosis, or defense and security. Rele ...

We experimentally demonstrate wavelength conversion in the 2 μm region by four-wave mixing in an AsSe and a GeAsSe chalcogenide photonic crystal fibers. A maximum conversion efficiency of −25.4 dB is measured for 112 mW of coupled continuous wave pump in a ...

We report an all-fiber pulsed source based on parametric conversion followed by thulium amplification able to deliver picosecond pulses at a repetition rate selectable between 2 and 5 GHz, of which central wavelength can be freely selected in the 2 micron ...

We demonstrate 1.5W sub-picosecond pulsed source near 2μm. Cavity-less source is based on integrated association of 3rd order Raman wavelength-shifting and thulium amplification. Coherent spectrum of 61.5nm with 49% pump power conversion efficiency is achi ...

The nonlinear coefficient and group velocity dispersion of a thulium-doped fiber near 2μm are evaluated via four-wave mixing. Nonlinearity of thulium-doped fiber can be used for the design of doped-fiber lasers in this spectral region. ...

We report the design of a short-wave infrared continuous-wave light source featuring a 20 mW average output power, and with a wavelength that can be freely selected in the 2000-2100 nm range amid a low power ripple. The operating principle relies on the si ...

We report more than 30dB second harmonic generation enhancement in SiN waveguide by all-optical writing of a persistent χ(2) grating. Phase matching peaks are observed for different writing wavelengths. ...

We report wavelength multicasting to three 5Gb/s channels around 1950nm via broadband four-wave-mixing between RZ-OOK modulated pump and O-band signals. The thulium-assisted configuration enables high fidelity copying and output powers of 10’s of mW. ...

We developed a chip-based silicon nitride platform with thick waveguides (> 2 mm) that overcomes the usual fabrication limitation. We demonstrate both microresonator frequency comb generation at 2:5 mm and supercontinuum generation extending beyond 4:0 mm ...

Enhanced second order nonlinear processes in a Si3N4 waveguide following optically induced χ(2) is demonstrated, enabling the detection of a frequency doubled pulsed train and SFG with >-37 dB conversion efficiency for 18 W pump peak power. ...

We report the demonstration of an all-fiber 10Gb/s modulation capable source near 2μm, tunable over more than 60nm with powers exceeding 2dBm, based on parametric conversion and appended Thulium amplification. ...

We report an all-fiber continuous wave source, tunable between 1935-1980nm, based on parametric conversion combined with thulium amplification. More than 150mW of power and 30dB optical signal-to-noise ratio is obtained over the entire range. OCIS codes: ( ...

We present the first demonstration of continuous-wave four-wave mixing at 2μm in short chalcogenide microstructured fiber. Idlers over approximately 15nm on anti-Stokes side of the pump were measured for a coupled pump power of 94mW. ...
