The first realization of a green-light frequency comb is reported in a silicon nitride ring microresonator, from third-order non-linear interaction of a near-infrared 1-THz spacing Kerr comb spanning 2/3 of an octave. ...

Enhanced second order nonlinear processes in a Si3N4 waveguide following optically induced χ(2) is demonstrated, enabling the detection of a frequency doubled pulsed train and SFG with >-37 dB conversion efficiency for 18 W pump peak power. ...

We demonstrate the all-optical stabilization of a low-noise temporal soliton based microresonator based optical frequency comb in a crystalline resonator via a new technique to control the repetition rate. This is accomplished by thermally heating the micr ...

A tunable and reconfigurable optical Nyquist channels aggregation is experimentally demonstrated. The proposed method two aggregate lower order modulation formats into a single higher order one. Two 16 Gbaud QPSK Nyquist pulses aggregated to a 16 QAM Nyqui ...

We experimentally demonstrate 7-fold multicasting of 20-Gbaud QPSK signals based on Kerr frequency combs generated in a silicon nitride microresonator. The effect of high phase-noise comb state on the multicasting performance has also been studied. ...

We introduce an architecture for optical-frequency synthesis using photonic-chip frequency combs and a heterogeneously integrated CW laser. The Kerr dual-comb that we describe offers a microwave-optical link to discipline the laser to an RF clock. ...

Frequency comb generation based on dissipative Kerr solitons (DKS) in microresonators is important for many applications. We show higher order mode suppression in silicon nitride microresonators, that reduces avoided modal crossing to enable DKS generation ...

Interleaving two soliton Kerr combs we generate 179 carriers for WDM transmission and demonstrate transmission of a data stream of 50 Tbit/s over 75 km. This is the highest data rate achieved with a chip-scale comb source. ...

Dissipative Kerr solitons in optical microresonators combine nonlinear optical physics with photonic-integrated technologies. They are promising for a number of applications ranging from optical coherent communications to astrophysical spectrometer calibra ...

We developed a chip-based silicon nitride platform with thick waveguides (> 2 mm) that overcomes the usual fabrication limitation. We demonstrate both microresonator frequency comb generation at 2:5 mm and supercontinuum generation extending beyond 4:0 mm ...

We characterize a low-phase-noise Kerr frequency comb for carrying data channels. Results show pump wavelength detuning region grows slightly at higher pump power and the phase noise stays relatively unchanged over pump wavelength detuning region. ...

We experimentally investigate the dependence of Kerr comb generation, comb linewidth, and coherent system performance on the pump linewidth in a microresonator. We find that the generation of the primary comb can have a larger tolerance to the pump linewid ...

We discover a novel mechanism allowing for successive reduction of the number of dissipative Kerr solitons in optical microresonators. It is demonstrated that multiple and single soliton state can be deterministically accessed. ...

The generation of primary sub-comb-lines with high coherence using dual pumps in a SiN microresonator is investigated. A total capacity of 400 Gbit/s has been experimentally demonstrated in coherent communications based on the generated combs. ...
