Rationale and objectives: To prospectively evaluate feasibility and robustness of an accelerated T2 mapping sequence (GRAPPATINI) in brain imaging and to assess its synthetic T2-weighted images (sT2w) in comparison with a standard T2-weighted sequence (T2 ...

Objectives This study evaluates GRAPPATINI, an accelerated T-2 mapping sequence combining undersampling and model-based reconstruction to facilitate the clinical implementation of T-2 mapping of the lumbar intervertebral disc. Methods Fifty-eight individua ...

Purpose Purpose of this study is to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of quantitative T2/ADC values in differentiating between PCa and lesions showing non-specific inflammatory infiltrates and atrophy, features of chronic prostatitis, as the most common his ...

Accurate characterization of in utero human brain maturation is critical as it involves complex and interconnected structural and functional processes that may influence health later in life. Magnetic resonance imaging is a powerful tool to investigate equ ...

Objectives To determine and compare the qualitative and quantitative diagnostic performance of a single sagittal fast spin echo (FSE) T2-weighted Dixon sequence in differentiating benign and malignant vertebral compression fractures (VCF), using multiple r ...

Background The relationship between osteoporosis and intervertebral disc (IVD) degeneration remains controversial. Novel quantitative Dixon (Q-Dixon) and GRAPPATINI T2 mapping techniques have shown potential for evaluating the biochemical components of the ...

ObjectiveThe application value of T2 mapping in evaluating endometrial carcinoma (EMC) features remains unclear. The aim of the study was to determine the quantitative T2 values in EMC using a novel accelerated T2 mapping, and evaluate them for detection, ...

Purpose Although several MRI methods have been explored to achievein vivomyelin quantification, imaging the whole brain in clinically acceptable times and sufficiently high resolution remains challenging. To address this problem, this work investigates the ...

T1-weighted structural MRI is widely used to measure brain morphometry (e.g., cortical thickness and subcortical volumes). Accelerated scans as fast as one minute or less are now available but it is unclear if they are adequate for quantitative morphometry ...

Standardized reporting of multiparametric prostate MRI (mpMRI) is widespread and follows international standards (Pi-RADS). However, quantitative measurements from mpMRI are not widely comparable. Although T2 mapping sequences can provide repeatable quanti ...

Background The application value of T(2)mapping in evaluating cervical cancer (CC) features remains unclear. Purpose To investigate the role of T(2)values in evaluating CC classification, grade, and lymphovascular space invasion (LVSI) in comparison to app ...

Purpose: To develop SPARCQ (Signal Profile Asymmetries for Rapid Compartment Quantification), a novel approach to quantify fat fraction (FF) using asymmetries in the phase-cycled balanced SSFP (bSSFP) profile. ...

Multi-component T2 relaxometry allows probing tissue microstructure by assessing compartment-specific T2 relaxation times and water fractions, including the myelin water fraction. Non-negative least squares (NNLS) with zero-order Tikhonov regularization is ...

Objectives Microstructural characterization of patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) has been shown to correlate better with disability compared to conventional radiological biomarkers. Quantitative MRI provides effective means to characterize micro ...

Background: GRAPPATINI is capable of originating synthetic T2 images (T2(synth)) and T2 maps in one magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. Purpose: To evaluate GRAPPATINI's performance in providing simultaneous morphological assessment of repaired rotator ...

Purpose: T1 Magnetization Prepared Two Rapid Acquisition Gradient Echo (MP2RAGE) with compress sensing (CS) has been proposed as an improvement of the standard MPRAGE sequence with multiple advantages including reduced acquisition time needed to provide a ...

Purpose To develop a 3D MR technique to simultaneously acquire proton multiparametric maps (T-1, T-2, and proton density) and sodium density weighted images over the whole brain. Methods We implemented a 3D stack-of-stars MR pulse sequence which consists o ...

Background Currently, multi-parametric prostate MRI (mpMRI) consists of a qualitative T-2, diffusion weighted, and dynamic contrast enhanced imaging. Quantification of T-2 imaging might further standardize PCa detection and support artificial intelligence ...

This review summarizes the existing techniques and methods used to generate synthetic contrasts from magnetic resonance imaging data focusing on musculoskeletal magnetic resonance imaging. To that end, the different approaches were categorized into 3 diffe ...

While research has unveiled and quantified brain markers of abnormal neurodevelopment, clinicians still work with qualitative metrics for MRI brain investigation. The purpose of the current article is to bridge the knowledge gap between case-control cohort ...
