In vivo multi-target and selective concentration monitoring of neurotransmitters can help to unravel the brain chemical complex signaling interplay. This paper presents a dedicated integrated potentiostat transducer circuit and its selective electrode inte ...

Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) improve the sensitivity of electrochemical biosensors. An optimized CNT/trasducer inte- gration is required to realize accurate devices. The nanotube orientation on the sensor electrode is a key parameter. The role of the sidewalls ...

This paper presents a new VHDL-AMS behavioral model of an electrochemical cell suitable for the design of VLSI bio-chips. Existing models are mainly equivalent circuit macromodels using electrical primitives, which hardly fit the actual behavior of biosens ...

Therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM) of conventional cytotoxic chemotherapies is strongly supported yet poorly implemented in daily practice in hospitals. Analytical methods for the quantification of cytotoxic drugs are instead widely presented in the scienti ...

Over the last 20 years, the field of Smart Dust has been proposed and demonstrated. Almost in the same period, implantable and wearable sensors for human monitoring have been actually successfully introduced in the market. The present research about Smart ...

Au nanocorals are grown on gold screen-printed electrodes (SPEs) by using a novel and simple one-step electro-deposition process. Scanning electron microscopy was used for the morphological characterization. The devices were assembled on a three-electrode ...

A method for manufacturing vias in a silicon wafer, the silicon wafer having a crystal orientation, and having a plane that is perpendicular to a surface of the wafer, tilted by 35.26°, the method comprising the steps of providing a mask having ...

The expanding interest in digital biomarker analysis focused on non-invasive human bodily fluids, such as sweat, highlights the pressing need for easily manufactured and highly efficient soft lab-on-skin solutions. Here, we report, for the first time, the ...

The research presented in this article draws inspiration from previous efforts aimed at replicating the functions of various solid-state memristors using a variety of materials. The memristor circuit emulator serves as a cost-effective tool for circuit des ...

We present in this work, first time in literature, a voltammetric label-free biosensor for detection of alpha lactalbumin (alpha-LB) in meal samples. Food allergy concern necessitates strict regulations in food labelling and innovative monitoring strategie ...

Monitoring of patient response to the anaesthetic drugs is an attractive improvement for achieving a correct balance of sedation level, increasing the chance of success in the right procedure of anaesthesia. Nowadays, there are no commercial tools able to ...

The IronIC project has the aim of developing a fully implantable and remotely powered platform for the real- time monitoring of human metabolites. In this paper we present a mixed-signal interface IC for the electrochemical sensing data acquisition chain. ...

We present here screen-printed carbon-based electrochemical (SPCE) sensors modified with ZnMxFe2-xO4 (M=Cr, Bi; x = 0, 1, 2). Paracetamol was used to study the electrochemical sensing performance of these newly developed sensors. We reported the sensitivit ...

Continuous and minimally invasive measurements of metabolism are the key to the understanding and proper treatment of various pathologies. In this context, this paper deals with an innovative concept of a wireless measurement system that monitors glucose c ...

In this work, we report the demonstration of the capability of electrochemical sensors to provide measurements directly on the sweat of volunteers to successfully discriminate heavy smokers by light ones. Since its importance as pharmaceutical treatment-ag ...

In this work, a complete study is carried out for the optimised, direct and catalyst-free growth of vertically-stacked graphene-based structures targeting at improved performance drug monitoring. The nanostructures, ultimately forming a honeycomb network o ...

In order to increase the power autonomy of implantable sensors, energy harvesters can aid and, in certain cases, substitute implantable batteries. The paper describes two promising techniques among the approaches presented in literature: biofuel cells and ...

Over the past eight years, there has been a remarkable surge in the field of sweat analysis, as a non-invasive, continuous, and multi-metabolite monitoring solution tailored for wearable devices. However, its full potential has yet to be fully realized due ...

Microcantilever-based biosensors have emerged as promising technologies for point-of-care sensing systems. However, since they are typically utilized as a single piezoresistor in a quarter Wheatstone bridge configuration, they suffer from output asymmetry ...

This paper presents the design of CMOS potentiostats using the g(m)/I-D methodology. We investigate the g(m)/I-D methodology as a systematic framework for optimal potentiostat design in terms of power dissipation, noise and area, the three most important p ...
