This paper examines reliable advancements in low-cost DNA- and immuno-chips. Capacitance detection was successfully chosen to develop label-free bio-chips. Probe immobilization was rigorously investigated in order to obtain reliable capacitance measurement ...

Personalized therapy requires accurate and frequent monitoring of drugs metabolic response in living organisms during drug treatments. In case of high risk side effects, e.g. therapies with interfering anti-cancer molecules cocktails, direct monitoring of ...

Biosensing for chronic pathologies requires the simultaneous monitoring of different parameters such as drug concentrations, inflammation status, temperature and pH. In this paper we discuss the design, fabrication and test of a sensor array hosting five b ...

This paper reports the characterization of an electrochemical biosensor for the continuous monitoring of Naproxen based on cytochrome P450. The electrochemical biosensor is based on the drop-casting of multi-walled carbon-nanotubes (MWCNTs) and microsomal ...

Recent advances in bio-sensing technologies have led to design of bio-sensor arrays for rapid identification and quantification of various biological agents such as drugs, gene expressions, proteins, cholesterol, fats, etc. Various dedicated sensing arrays ...

Label–free DNA detection is of crucial role to when developing point-of-care biochips to be used in personalized therapy. Capacitance detection is a promising technology for label-free DNA detection. However, data published in literature often show evident ...

Recent advances in microelectronics and biosensors are enabling developments of innovative biochips for advanced healthcare by providing fully integrated platforms for continuous monitoring of a large set of human disease biomarkers. Continuous monitoring ...

At present, most of the tests involved in personalized medicine are complex and must be conducted in specialized centers. The development of appropriate, fast and inexpensive diagnostic technologies can encourage medical personnel in performing preventive ...

Drug development and personalized therapy require accurate and frequent monitoring of the metabolic response by living tissues to treatments. In case of high risk side effects, e.g. therapies with interfering anti-cancer molecule cocktails, direct monitori ...

We describe an integrated biosensor capable of sensing multiple molecular targets using both cyclic voltammetry (CV) and chronoamperometry (CA). In particular, we present our custom IC to realize voltage control and current readout of the bio ...

This paper compares three different biocompatible packagings suitable to support full implantation of multi-panel sensors for remote monitoring of metabolism. The three packagings have been designed, realized and implanted in mice for 30 days. ATP and neut ...

Monolayer thin films with ethylene-glycol function onto gold surfaces by using thiols have been extensively investigated. They have been proposed as precursors for applications to bio-detection, where their hydrophilic character improves both specificity a ...

An amperometric biosensor for adenosine 5 -triphosphate (ATP) was developed applying a competitive assay of two glucose converting enzymes: glucose oxidase (GOD) and hexokinase (HEX). Competition between GOD and HEX for glucose in presence of ATP, lead to ...

A novel system for remote monitoring of metabolism in an animal model is proposed in this paper. The system is obtained by integrating bio-nano-sensors to detect single- metabolites, an electrochemical front-end made with off-the-shelf components, a radio ...

We report the first selective growth of nanographite petals and various carbon nanomaterials onto a multipanel electrochemical platform. Different types of nanomaterials can be obtained by fine-tuning the growth parameters of the chemical vapor deposition ...

This paper represents the extended version of the conference paper “Developing highly-integrated subcutaneous biochips for remote monitoring of human metabolism” pre- sented at the IEEE Sensors Conference 2012, and presents data on assembly, packaging and ...
