Neuropsychological deficits and brain damage following SARS-CoV-2 infection are not well understood. Then, 116 patients, with either severe, moderate, or mild disease in the acute phase underwent neuropsychological and olfactory tests, as well as completed ...

We conducted a cross-sectional pilot study to explore the biological substrate of the Motoric Cognitive Risk (MCR) syndrome in a Memory Clinic cohort, using a multimodal imaging approach. Twenty participants were recruited and classified as MCR+/-. Amyloid ...

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) with only motor impairment (ALS-pure motor) and the behavioral variant of frontotemporal dementia (bvFTD) are hypothesized to represent extreme ends of a disease spectrum, which encompasses ALS with cognitive/behavioral ...

The discovery that human brain connectivity data can be used as a "fingerprint " to identify a given individual from a population, has become a burgeoning research area in the neuroscience field. Recent studies have iden-tified the possibility to extract t ...

Schizophrenia pathophysiology implies both abnormal redox control and dysconnectivity of the prefrontal cortex, partly related to oligodendrocyte and myelin impairments. As oligodendrocytes are highly vulnerable to altered redox state, we investigated the ...

In this study we investigated the effect of medial temporal lobe epilepsy (MTLE) on the global characteristics of brain connectivity estimated by topological measures. We used DSI (Diffusion Spectrum Imaging) to construct a connectivity matrix where the no ...

Background: Amnestic syndrome of the hippocampal type (ASHT) in Memory Clinics is a presentation common to Alzheimer's disease (AD). However, ASHT can be found in other neurodegenerative disorders. Objective: To compare brain morphometry including hippocam ...

Idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH) is a prevalent reversible neurological disorder characterized by impaired locomotion, cognition and urinary control with ventriculomegaly. Symptoms can be relieved with cerebrospinal fluid drainage, which mak ...

Chromosome 22q11.2 deletion syndrome (22q11DS) is a genetic disease known to lead to cerebral structural alterations, which we study using the framework of the macroscopic white-matter connectome. We create weighted connectomes of 44 patients with 22q11DS ...

The human brain displays heterogeneous organization in both structure and function. Here we develop a method to characterize brain regions and networks in terms of information-theoretic measures. We look at how these measures scale when larger spatial regi ...

Accurate diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease (AD) in Memory Clinics remains challenging due to the limited specificity of conventional clinical assessment and structural imaging. The recent commentary by Vyhnalek and colleagues advocates for the incorporation ...

Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) has been reported in patients with dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB) and Alzheimer’s disease (AD), with a similar prevalence from pathology studies. 1,2 CAA typically affects posterior regions, but amyloid deposits have been ...

Background This study investigated sex differences in the associations between Alzheimer's disease (AD) biomarkers, cognitive performance, and decline in memory clinic settings. Methods 249 participants (females/males:123/126), who underwent tau-PET, amylo ...

Aging involves complex processes that impact the structure, function, and metabolism of the human brain. Declines in both structural and functional integrity along with reduced local inhibitory tone in the motor areas, as indicated by reduced γ-aminobutyri ...

Late human development is characterized by the maturation of high-level functional processes, which rely on reshaping of white matter connections, as well as synaptic density. However, the relationship between the whole-brain dynamics and the underlying wh ...

6 The complex relationship between structural and functional connectivity, as measured by noninvasive imaging of the human brain, poses many unresolved challenges and open questions. Here, we apply analytic measures of network communication to the structur ...

Individual characterization of subjects based on their functional connectome (FC), termed “FC fingerprinting”, has become a highly sought-after goal in contemporary neuroscience research. Recent functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) studies have dem ...

Background: The timed up and go (TUG) is a test used to assess mobility in older adults and patients with neurological conditions. This study aims to compare brain gray matter (GM) correlates and structural covariance networks associated with the TUG time ...

The human auditory cortex comprises the supratemporal plane and large parts of the temporal and parietal convexities. We have investigated the relevant intrahemispheric cortico-cortical connections using in vivo DSI tractography combined with landmark-base ...

Alzheimer's disease (AD) can be conceptualized as a network-based syndrome. Network alterations are linked to the molecular hallmarks of AD, involving amyloid-beta and tau accumulation, and consecutively neurodegeneration. By combining molecular and restin ...
