The transition metal tellurium oxychloride, Ni-5(TeO3)(4)Cl-2, has been investigated by high-field electron-spin resonance for frequencies up to 3 THz, at temperatures well below the magnetic ordering at 23 K. At zero external field several resonance modes ...

We demonstrate that single crystals of methylammonium lead bromide (MAPbBr(3)) could be grown directly on vertically aligned carbon nanotube (VACNT) forests. The fast-growing MAPbBr3 single crystals engulfed the protogenetic inclusions in the form of indiv ...

Highly ordered, anodically grown TiO2 nanotubes on titanium supports were annealed in ammonia atmosphere in order to incorporate nitrogen doping (

We present a newly-developed microwave probe for performing sensitive high-field/multi-frequency electron spin resonance (ESR) measurements under high hydrostatic pressures. The system consists of a BeCu-made pressure-resistant vessel, which accommodates t ...

The time-window for processing electron spin information (spintronics) in solid-state quantum electronic devices is determined by the spin-lattice and spin-spin relaxation times of electrons. Minimizing the effects of spin-orbit coupling and the local magn ...

The performance of organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites-based (MHPs) photovoltaic devices critically depends on the design and material properties of the interface between the light-harvesting MHP layer and the electron transport layer (ETL). Therefo ...

We report on spherical neutron polarimetry and unpolarized neutron diffraction in zero magnetic field as well as flipping ratio and static magnetization measurements in high magnetic fields on the multiferroic square lattice antiferromagnet Ba2CoGe2O7. We ...

The growing library of two-dimensional layered materials is providing researchers with a wealth of opportunity to explore and tune physical phenomena at the nanoscale. Here, we review the experimental and theoretical state-of-art concerning the electron sp ...

Chemical modification such as intercalation or doping of novel materials is of great importance for exploratory material science and applications in various fields of physics and chemistry. Herein, the systematic intercalation of chemically exfoliated few- ...

In the field of magnetoelectric coupling, especially via the spin-dependent metal-ligand d-p hybridization mechanism found in multiferroic Ba2MGe2O7 (M = Mn, Co), detailed knowledge of the microscopic structural parameters is essential, also for the theore ...

Graphene is theoretically expected to be a highly suitable material for spintronic and quantum computation applications. Current experimental reports assign surprisingly low spin lifetimes to graphene and related carbon structures. Recently, we showed a so ...

We have attempted to prepare graphene samples by mechanical exfoliation of HOPG (highly oriented pyrolytic graphite) using scotch tape. Random testing of the flakes by AFM has shown in majority single layer graphene. Nevertheless, the presence of ultrathin ...

This disclosure relates to quantum electronic devices for storing qubits. In particular, this disclosure relates to a quantum electronic device comprising a carbon nanosphere adapted to store a qubit represented by an electron spin and a control and readou ...

A chemically synthesized graphitic material where the structural coherence between the layers is missing approximates very well the assembly of graphene sheets. Our multi-frequency (9.4-420 GHz) electron spin resonance (ESR) study clearly identifies itiner ...

X-ray photon detection is important for a wide range of applications. The highest demand, however, comes from medical imaging, which requires cost-effective, high-resolution detectors operating at low-photon flux, therefore stimulating the search for novel ...

Most digital information today is encoded in the magnetization of ferromagnetic domains. The demand for ever-increasing storage space fuels continuous research for energy-efficient manipulation of magnetism at smaller and smaller length scales. Writing a b ...

We present a multifrequency electron spin resonance study in the range of 4-420 GHz of the quasi-one-dimensional, nondimerized, quarter-filled Mott insulators, delta-(EDT-TTF-CONMe2)(2)X (X=AsF6, Br). In the high-temperature orthorhombic phase above T simi ...

Coordination assemblies formed by metal(II) dithiocarbamates M-II(R(2)dtc)2 (M = Zn, Cd, Hg, Mn, and Fe; R = Me, Et, iPr, nPr, and nBu) and nitrogen-containing ligands (L = DABCO, DMP, and HMTA) are shown to be sterically well consistent with the spherical ...

Electron microscopy (TEM) and electron spin resonance ESR) were applied to characterize lanthanum metallofullerene(La@C82)-filled peapods. The peapods were prepared by encapsulation of La@C82 in SWCNTs, which were obtained by laser ablation technique in th ...

We report the development of the frequency-modulation (FM) method for measuring electron spin resonance (ESR) absorption in the 210- to 420 GHz frequency range. We demonstrate that using a high-frequency ESR spectrometer without resonating microwave compon ...
