A series of imidazolium dicarboxylic acids have been prepd. from the reaction of the 1,3-bis(carboxymethyl)imidazolium zwitterion with the Bronsted acids HX (X = F, Br, Cl, ClO4). The structures of these acids have been established in the solid ...

One of the obstacles to the commercialization of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) is the high price and morphological instability of the most common hole-transporting material (HTM) Spiro-OMeTAD. Herein, a novel HTM, termed V1160, based on four N,N '-bis(3-me ...

Rhodium nanoparticles embedded on the interior of hollow porous carbon nanospheres, able to sieve monomers from polymers, were used to confirm the precise role of metal catalysts in the reductive catalytic fractionation of lignin. The study provides clear ...

The synthesis of three enamine hole-transporting materials (HTMs) based on Troger's base scaffold are reported. These compounds are obtained in a three-step facile synthesis from commercially available materials without the need of expensive catalysts, ine ...

Bacterial infections and transmission threaten human health and well-being. Graphite carbon nitride (g-C3N4), a promising photocatalytic antibacterial nanomaterial, has attracted increasing attention to combat bacterial transmission, due to the outstanding ...

Enzymatic hydrolysis lignin (EHL) is a large-scale industrial waste generated from the bio-ethanol production process. Its complex and heterogeneous nature as well as its low solubility in common solvents, has posed a persistent barrier to its effective ut ...

Despite the excellent photovoltaic properties achieved by perovskite solar cells at the laboratory scale, hybrid perovskites decompose in the presence of air, especially at high temperatures and in humid environments. Consequently, high-efficiency perovski ...

Single-atom catalysts are emerging as primary catalysts for many reactions due to their 100% utilization of active metal centers leading to high catalytic efficiencies. Herein, we report the use of a single-atom Co catalyst for the oxidative cleavage of th ...

Reaction of the pentamethylcyclopentadienyl rhodium iodide dimer Cp*RhI2 with 1,1'-diphenyl-3,3'-methylenediimidazolium diiodide in non-alcohol solvents, in the presence of base, led to the formation of bis-carbene complex [Cp*Rh(bis-NHC)I] I (bis-NHC ...

Palladium nanoparticles immobilized on a cross-linked imidazolium-containing polymer were evaluated as a catalyst for Suzuki carbon-carbon cross-coupling reactions using water as the solvent. The nanocatalysts show good catalytic activities for aryl iodide ...

A series of cross-linked ionic polymers based on styrene-functionalized imidazolium salts with chloride, hexafluorophosphate, or tetrafluoroborate counter anions have been prepared and characterized using a range of analytical and spectroscopic techniques ...

A novel lithium salt, cyclobutane-1,1-dicarboxylic lithium was synthesized and characterized by NMR, IR, ESI-MS, X-ray single crystal analysis, and TG/DTG (TGA) thermal analysis. The crystal structure information reveals the coordination polymer nature and ...

Imidazolium salts with aromatic groups 1,3-bis(9-anthracenylmethyl)imidazolium chloride ([Bamim]Cl), 1,3-bis(1-naphthalenylmethyl)imidazolium chloride ([Bnmim]Cl) and 1,3-bis( benzylmethyl)imidazolium chloride ([Bbmim]Cl) were reacted with PdCl2 forming th ...

A highly efficient and poison-resistant system for the Suzuki coupling reaction based on hydroxyl-functionalized ionic liq. solvents has been established. Coupling of RC6H4X (X = Br, I, Cl) and 2-bromothiophene with R1C6H4B(OH)2 in 2-hydroxyethyl-substitut ...

Fluorescent graphene-based materials have been prepared by a facile ion exchange route comprising the reaction of carboxylated, reduced graphene oxide (c-RGO) with fluorescent anthracene-modified imidazolium salts in water-ethanol solution. The resulting r ...

Organic-inorganic metal-halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have achieved a certified power-conversion efficiency (PCE) of 25.5%. However, long-term stability and air stability of the PSCs are still major concerns and hamper commercialization. Herein, we ...

An ionic liquid encompassing a bulky tertiary amine was synthesized and used as a dual solvent-reactant for the formation of a frustrated Lewis pair with tris(pentafluorophenyl) borane, forming a pseudo-frustrated Lewis pair-ionic liquid system. The ionic ...

Ionic liquids containing the nitrile and vinyl functional groups attached to imidazolium cations combined with various anions, e.g., iodide, bis[(trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl]imide ([TFSI]-), or dicyanamide ([N(CN)2]-), have been prepared and characterized. Th ...

Combining doxorubicin with thermal therapy in the clinic has led to startling results in the treatment of problematic cancers. Here, we describe a multimo dal multi-walled carbon nanotube material that combines tumor targeting, doxorubicin delivery, and ph ...

Ionic liquids doped with I-2, usually resulting in the formation of polyiodide anions, are extensively used as electrolytes and in iodination reactions. Herein, NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction were used to rationalize the structures o ...
