The present study illustrates new experimental two-phase flow pattern observations together with diabatic boiling and adiabatic two-phase frictional pressure drop results for ammonia (R7117) flowing inside a 14-mm internal diameter, smooth horizontal stain ...

The present study presents new flow boiling heat transfer results of R-134a flowing inside a 13.84 mm internal diameter, smooth horizontal copper tube. The heat transfer measurements were made over a wide range of test conditions: saturation temperatures o ...

Alfven eigenmodes driven by energetic particles are routinely observed in tokamak plasmas. These modes consist of poloidal harmonics of shear Alfven waves coupled by inhomogeneity in the magnetic field. Further coupling is introduced by 3D inhomogeneities ...

Experiments of flow boiling heat transfer were conducted in four horizontal flattened smooth copper tubes of two different heights of 2 and 3 mm. The equivalent diameters of the flattened tubes are 8.6, 7.17, 6.25, and 5.3 mm. The working fluids were R22 a ...

Two high performance JET-ILW pulses, pertaining to the 2016 experimental campaign, have been numerically simulated with the self-consistent code COREDIV with the aim of predicting the ELM-averaged power load to the target when extrapolated to DT plasmas. T ...

For the past several years, the JET scientific programme (Pamela et al 2007 Fusion Eng. Des. 82 590) has been engaged in a multi-campaign effort, including experiments in D, H and T, leading up to 2020 and the first experiments with 50%/50% D-T mixtures si ...

In single- and two-phase flow heat exchangers (in particular "coils"), besides the straight tubes there are also many singularities, in particular the 180° return bends (also called return bends or U-bends). However, contrary to the literature concerning p ...

Curved channels in the form of bends are encountered in many industrial two-phase flow applications, such as U-bends in air-conditioning and refrigeration evaporators and condensers. For engineering design purposes, the evaluation of the pressure loss in t ...

Experiments of diabatic two-phase pressure drops in flow boiling were conducted in four horizontal flattened smooth copper tubes with two different heights of 2 and 3 mm. The equivalent diameters of the flat tubes are 8.6, 7.17. 6.25, and 5.3 mm. The worki ...

The lecture will address our experimental work on observing flow patterns and measuring heat transfer coefficients and two-phase pressure drops for evaporating ammonia flows in a horizontal tube over a range of mass fluxes and saturation temperatures. Some ...
