The inter-area oscillations are common in power systems and can occur due to the changes in the load or generating power especially in long transmission lines. This paper presents the design of a robust fixed order loop shaping controller to damp out the i ...

This paper proposes a multivariable digital control design methodology for the voltage regulation of an islanded single distributed generation (DG) unit microgrid and its dedicated load. The controller design methodology is based on a family of spectral Mu ...

This paper introduces a novel method for data-driven robust control of nonlinear systems based on the Koopman operator, utilizing Integral Quadratic Constraints (IQCs). The Koopman operator theory facilitates the linear representation of nonlinear system d ...

Data-driven controller tuning for model reference control problem is investigated. A new controller tuning scheme for linear time-invariant single- input single-output systems is proposed. The method, which is based on the correlation approach, uses a sing ...

In a recent work, a frequency method based on linear programming is proposed to design fixed-order linearly parameterized controllers for stable linear multi- model SISO systems. The method is based on the shaping of the open-loop transfer functions in the ...

A new method for the design of fixed-structure dynamic output-feedback Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) controllers for discrete-time LPV systems with bounded scheduling parameter variations is presented. Sufficient conditions for the stability, $\mathscr{H} ...

This paper presents a novel angular velocity estimation strategy of a Reaction Sphere (RS) for satellite attitude control based on a Linear Parameter-Varying (LPV) Kalman Filter. The reaction sphere is a permanent magnet synchronous spherical actuator whos ...

The linear motion of the Corner Cube Mechanism developed for the infrared sounder of the third generations of Meteosat weather satellites requires a high level of accuracy. The system is subject to external micro-vibration perturbations from surrounding in ...

Power-Hardware-in-the-Loop (PHIL) setups have gained high importance in validation of the performance of newly developed instruments and devices with low risk and implementation cost. However, the interconnection of a power hardware with a simulated model ...

A new method for H-infinity gain-scheduled controller design by convex optimization is proposed that uses only frequency-domain data. The method is based on loop shaping in the Nyquist diagram with constraints on the weighted infinity norm of closed-loop t ...

This paper focuses on the problem of voltage control of islanded inverter-interfaced microgrids consisting of several distributed generation (DG) units with radial structure. The main objectives are to (i) design a decentralized/distributed voltage control ...

High performance output tracking can be achieved by precompensator or feedforward controllers based on the inverse of the closed-loop system or the plant model. However, it has been shown that these inverse controllers can affect adversely the tracking per ...

A quadratic programming approach is proposed to tune fixed-order linearly parameterized controllers for stable LTI plants represented by spectral models. The method is based on the shaping of the open-loop or closed-loop frequency functions in the Nyquist ...

A linear programming approach is proposed to tune fixed-order linearly parameterized controllers for stable LTI plants. The method is based on the shaping of the open-loop transfer function in the Nyquist diagram. A lower bound on the crossover frequency a ...

In this paper a new approach for fixed-structure H2 controller design in terms of solutions to a set of linear matrix inequalities are given. Both discrete- and continuous-time single-input single-output (SISO) time- invariant systems are considered. Then ...

Methods for direct data-driven tuning of the parameters of precompensators for LPV systems are developed. Since the commutativity property is not always satisfied for LPV systems, previously proposed methods for LTI systems that use this property cannot be ...

The extensive use of frequency-domain tools for analyzing and controlling linear systems have become indispensable for the control systems engineer. However, due to the increased performance demands on today's industrial systems, the effects of certain non ...

In this paper, a new data-driven distributed control structure for frequency/voltage regulation and active/reactive power sharing of islanded microgrids is proposed. By using a droop-free concept, the proposed method avoids the inherent timescale separatio ...

This paper proposes a decentralized control strategy for the voltage regulation of islanded inverter-interfaced micro- grids. We show that an inverter-interfaced microgrid under plug- and-play (PnP) functionality of distributed generations (DGs) can be cas ...

Cartesian robots have position-dependent dynamics that should be accounted for in high performance applications. Traditional methods design Linear Time Invariant (LTI) controllers which are robustly stable with respect to position variations, but require a ...
