Due to the integration of renewable-based Distributed Generation Units (DGUs), Energy Storage Systems (ESSs) and electric car charging stations, more and more power electronic converters are connected to the grid. In grids with a high penetration rate of t ...

This paper presents a vector control strategy for regulating the current of grid-tied voltage source converters (VSCs) in a rotating reference frame. The proposed approach is based on shaping the open-loop and closed-loop transfer matrices of the system. S ...

Cross regulation is the main technical drawback of a Single-Inductor Multiple-Output (SIMO) dc-dc converter. This paper proposes a multivariable digital controller to suppress the cross regulation of a Single-Inductor Dual-Output (SIDO) buck converter in C ...

In many industrial applications, finding a model from physical laws that is both simple and reliable for control design is a hard and time-consuming undertaking. When a set of input/output measurements is available, one can derive the controller directly f ...

A linear programming approach is proposed to tune fixed-order linearly parameterized gain-scheduled controllers for stable SISO linear parameter varying (LPV) plants. The method is based on the shaping of the open-loop transfer functions in the Nyquist dia ...

The purpose of this paper is to explore the appli- cability of linear time-invariant (LTI) dynamical systems with polytopic uncertainty for modeling and control of islanded DC microgrids under plug-and-play (PnP) functionality of distributed generations (D ...

Renewable energy resources have an increasing share of the electrical power, and the concept of distributed generation and storage units is about to completely change the basic architecture and control algorithms of the electric power grids. In this tutori ...

In this paper, a convex set of fixed-order H-infinity and H2 dynamic output-feedback controllers for continuous-time systems with polytopic uncertainty is proposed. This approach is based on the use of some instrumental stable matrices, which operate as a ...

Islanded microgrids have low real and reactive power generation capacity and low synchronous inertia. This makes them susceptible to large frequency and voltage deviations caused by switching of large loads or equipment failures. These events deteriorate p ...

In this paper a new nonlinear identification method for microgrids based on neural networks is proposed. The system identification process can be done using the available closed-loop system input/output data recorded during normal operation without additio ...

A new approach for robust fixed-order

controller design by convex optimization is proposed. Linear time-invariant single-input single-output systems represented by a finite set of complex values in the frequency domain are considered. It is show ...

This paper presents a data-driven multivariable Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) controller design method. The synthesis process is based on frequency-domain data corresponding to different operating points of the plant. The performance and also stability co ...

Convex parameterization of fixed-order robust stabilizing controllers for systems with polytopic uncertainty is represented as an LMI using KYP Lemma. This parameterization is a convex inner-approximation of the whole non- convex set of stabilizing control ...

This study introduces a novel frequency-based data-driven controller for adaptive optics, using power spectral density for optimization while ensuring stability criteria. It addresses disturbance rejection, command amplitude constraints and system transfer ...

Robust control synthesis of linear time-invariant SISO polytopic systems is investigated using the polynomial approach. A convex set of all stabilizing controllers for a polytopic system is given over an infinite-dimensional space. A finite-dimensional app ...

This paper presents a data-driven controller tuning method that includes a set of constraints for ensuring closed-loop stability. The approach requires a single experiment and can also be applied to nonminimum-phase or unstable systems. The tuning scheme u ...

A new method for the design of fixed-order Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) controllers with polytopic representation for LTI plants is proposed. The stability constraints for the closed-loop system are presented through a set of Linear Matrix Inequalities ( ...

Cross regulation is the main technical challenge of a Single-Inductor Multiple-Output (SIMO) dc-dc converter. This paper proposes a multivariable digital controller to suppress the cross regulation of a Single-Inductor Dual-Output (SIDO) buck converter in ...

In this paper, a new data-driven method for designing robust controllers is proposed for systemswith sector-bounded nonlinearities and multimodel uncertainties. The results from the circle criterion are used to generate necessary and sufficient convex cons ...

A novel method to design data-driven, fixed-structure controllers with H2 and H∞ performance objectives is presented. The control design problem is transformed into a convex optimization problem with linear matrix inequality constraints, which can be solve ...
