The global structural connectivity of the brain, the human connectome, is now accessible at millimeter scale with the use of MRI. In this paper, we describe an approach to map the connectome by constructing normalized whole-brain structural connection matr ...

When comparing different methods for face detection or localization, one realizes that just simply comparing the reported results is misleading as, even if the results are reported on the same dataset, different authors have different views of what a correct detection/localization means. This paper addresses exactly this problem, proposing an objective measure for the goodness of a detection/localization for the case of frontal faces. The usage of the proposed technique insures a fair and unbiased way of re

Merging decisions from different modalities is a crucial problem in Audio-Visual Speech Recognition. To solve this, state synchronous multi-stream HMMs have been proposed for their important advantage of incorporating stream reliability in their fusion sch ...

The present invention concerns a pulse wave image reconstruction method to be used for example in ultrasound imaging. The proposed method is based on an image measurement model and its adjoint operator. The proposed method introduces matrix-free formulatio ...

In this paper we show that it is sufficient to recover the locations of K strong reflectors within an insonified medium from three receive elements and 2K+1 samples per element. The proposed approach leverages advances in sampling signals with a finite rat ...

In this paper, we address the challenge of few-shot classification in histopathology whole slide images (WSIs) by utilizing foundational vision-language models (VLMs) and slide-level prompt learning. Given the gigapixel scale of WSIs, conventional multiple ...

Objectives: In this study, we investigated the structural plasticity of the contralesional motor network in ischemic stroke patients using diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and explored a model that combines a MRI-based metric of contralesional ne ...

This paper studies the performance of three wellknown regularization techniques to solve the inverse problem encountered in differential microwave imaging for brain stroke applications. Reconstructions from a multi-illumination configuration based on measu ...

This dataset contains a collection of ultrafast ultrasound acquisitions from nine volunteers and the CIRS 054G phantom. For a comprehensive understanding of the dataset, please refer to the paper: Viñals, R.; Thiran, J.-P. A KL Divergence-Based Loss for In ...

In medical imaging, merging automated segmentations obtained from multiple atlases has become a standard practice for improving the accuracy. In this letter, we propose two new fusion methods: “Global Weighted Shape-Based Averaging” (GWSBA) and “Local Weig ...

Kernel matching pursuit is a greedy algorithm for building an approximation of a discriminant function as a linear combination of some basis functions selected from a kernel-induced dictionary. Here we propose a modification of the kernel matching pursuit ...
