Titania nanofibers were fabricated using the industrial Nanospider (TM) technology. The preparative protocol was optimized by screening various precursor materials to get pure anatase nanofibers. Composite films were prepared by mixing a commercial paste o ...

Nowadays, dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) are the most extensively investigated systems for the conversion of solar energy into electricity, particularly for implementation in devices where low cost and good performance are required. Nevertheless, a key ...

Two new D−A−π-spacer−A organic dyes, KM-10 and KM-11, containing a benzothiadiazole unit in a π-spacer and a cyanoacrylic acid as an acceptor have been synthesized and tested as sensitizers in dye-sensitized solar cells. Structural variations of the donor ...

Solid state PbS quantum dots (QDs)/TiO2 heterojunction solar cells were produced by depositing PbS QDs on a 500 nm thick mesoscopic TiO2 films using layer-by-layer deposition. Importantly, the PbS QDs act here as photosensitizers and at the same time as ho ...

The present invention relates to photoanodes, solar cells and methods and processes for producing the same. In some embodiments, the solar cells of the invention can do without a sintered nanoporous scaffold layer, making it possible to produce the solar c ...

One of the most prominent hole-transporting material (HTM) for hybrid perovskite solar cells has been 2,2″,7,7″-tetrakis[N,N-di(4-methoxyphenyl)amino]-9,9′-spirobifluorene (spiro-OMeTAD), which is commonly doped with metal bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ...

Redox couples based on cobalt complexes were found to be effective in regenerating both inorganic CdSe quantum dot-and organic dye-sensitizers. The hybrid sensitizer composed of CdSe QD and ruthenium sensitizer (Z907Na) dye showed a maximum power conversio ...

Viologens adsorbed on TiO2 surfaces in nanocryst.-nanoporous electrodes were studied with regards to the electrochromic effect. The transparent nature and the high internal surface area of these electrodes are very beneficial in this regard. Absorbance up to 1 and coloration efficiencies >100 cm2C-1 were obtained. The switching times for these electrodes for both coloration and bleaching were faster than 1s, using 0.5M LiClO4 in MeCN as electrolyte. Preliminary stability tests were performed. For one of the

A series of tri-tert-butyl zinc(II) phthalocyanines (Pcs) substituted with pyridyl, carboxyl, or picolinic acid anchoring groups on the periphery were prepared. Photovoltaic (PV) studies on these dyes were carried out revealing some interesting features. I ...

Organolead iodide perovskite, CH3NH3PbI3, was prepared in the form of nanowire by means of a small quantity of aprotic solvent in two-step spin-coating procedure. One-dimensional nanowire perovskite with the mean diameter of 100 nm showed faster carrier se ...

A ZnO compact layer formed by electrodeposition and ZnO nanorods grown by chemical bath deposition (CBD) allow the processing of low-temperature, solution based and flexible solid state perovskite CH3NH3PbI3 solar cells. Conversion efficiencies of 8.90% we ...

Three novel efficient donor-acceptor porphyrins, MH1-MH3, with a pyridine-type acceptor and anchoring group were synthesized and their optical, electrochemical, and photovoltaic properties investigated. Replacing the commonly used 4-carboxyphenyl anchoring ...

The effect of chenodeoxycholic acid as the coadsorbent with a squaraine sensitizer on TiO2 nanocrystalline solar cells was investigated, and it was found that the coadsorbent prevents the squaraine sensitizer from aggregating on the TiO2 nanoparticles but ...

Organohalide lead perovskites have revolutionized the scenario of emerging photovoltaic technologies. The prototype MAPbI(3) perovskite (MA = CH3NH3+) has dominated the field, despite only harvesting photons above 750 nm (similar to 1.6 eV). Intensive rese ...

High extinction coefficients and easily tunable spectral properties of π - conjugated donor-acceptor dyes are of superior advantage for the design of new metal- free organic sensitizers for applications in dye-sensitized solar cells. Ultrafast transient ab ...

The present invention relates to a redox copper complex melt comprising a metalorganic complex of formula (I) [Cu (La) n ] (I), wherein n is an integer 2; and La is a bidentate ligand selected from a ligand according to any one of formulae (1) and (2): ...

Herein, we present the first use of a gallium oxide tunnelling layer to significantly reduce electron recombination in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSC). The sub-nanometer coating is achieved using atomic layer deposition (ALD) and leading to a new DSC reco ...

Metal halide perovskites are ideal candidates for indoor photovoltaics (IPVs) because of their easy-to-adjust bandgaps, which can be designed to cover the spectrum of any artificial light source. However, the serious non-radiative carrier recombination und ...

A new tandem electrolyte composed of two redox pairs, the organic radical 2-azaadamantane-N-oxyl (AZ) and the well-known redox pair Co(bpy)(3) was investigated in dye sensitized solar cells. Importantly, an increase in V-OC was achieved using the ...

The photovoltaic performances of ZnO-based dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have been studied for ZnO porous films prepared by different techniques. A comparison is made between nanoparticle (NP) films prepared by a sol-gel method and two different elect ...
