Chiara GabellaTeaching & PhD Courses Hands-on with Research Data Management in Chemistry ChE-601 PhD students in Chemistry will learn hands-on Research Data Management (RDM) skills transferable to their research practices. They willcontextualize their research into RDM best practices (day 1), discover appropriate tools (day 2) and work on a project (day 3) for the courseaccreditation
Valentin Daniel Maurice BourdonValentin Bourdon is an architect, postdoctoral researcher and teaching assistant. He obtained the french architectural diploma in 2013 from the École d’Architecture de la Ville et des Territoires Paris-Est at Marne-la-Vallée under the direction of Jacques Lucan, and completed his PhD at EPFL in 2020, under the supervision of Luca Ortelli. Since September 2021, he coordinates the Habitat Research Center at EPFL. Involved in the studies of the Laboratory of Construction and Conservation between 2017 and 2021, he also contributes in the supervision of its Housing Studio - Project Theory and Criticism for architecture bachelor. During his doctoral research, he benefited of an academic stay at Metrolab Brussels in 2019 with the support of the SNSF, and published multiple scientific and non-academic publications. His arrival in Switzerland and return to the academic world take place after a thorough professional experience in the parisian office MGAU Michel Guthmann Architecture Urbanisme. From 2010 to 2016, he participed to the majority of its developed projects and supervised several of them, both collective dwellings projects and urban projects.

Diego Ruben BarrettinoDiego Barrettino (S’93–M’98–SM’06) received the Dipl.-Ing. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1997, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETHZ) in 2004.
He worked at Allegro MicroSystems Inc., from 1997 to 2000, where he was an Analog IC Designer of Hall-effect magnetic sensors. From 2000 to 2004, he was a Ph.D. student and Research Assistant at ETHZ, where he designed chemical and mechanical sensors. In 2004, he moved to the USA where he designed biomedical devices first as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in the University of Washington, and then as an Assistant Professor in the University of Hawaii. In 2006, he returned to Europe where he joined the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL) as a Senior Research Scientist for the design and development of biosensors using organic nanotransistors. From 2007 to 2009, he was a Senior Lecturer in the University of Glasgow, U.K., and in the University College Cork, Republic of Ireland, where he designed ultra-low power biomedical devices. From 2009 to 2017, he was Full Professor and Head of the Laboratory of Microelectronics, Bioelectronics and Sensor Systems (LMBS) at the University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), where he designed smart contact lenses and eye implants. In 2017, he joined both the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences (HSLU) and EPFL as a part-time Senior Research Scientist to continue his work on smart sensor systems.
His research interests are in the fields of physical, chemical, and biomedical microsensors; sensor fusion algorithms; analog and mixed-signal IC design; MEMS; embedded systems; avionics and bioelectronics.
Diego Barrettino is a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS).

I am a researcher at the interface of photonics and materials science; my interests and research contributions relate to the use of correlated-disordered structures for light management for ultra-thin film photovoltaic applications. This interdisciplinary research requires expertise in both simulation and nanofabrication of semiconductor devices. My career started in Germany, with a degree in microsystems engineering from the University of Applied Sciences of Regensburg and a master's in ph
Francesco CelentanoTeaching & PhD Courses Theoretical corporate finance FIN-601 The aim of this course is to expose students to important topics in the literature on corporate finance. The objective of the course is to give students a working understanding of key papers and to expose students to solution techniques to be applied in their own research.

To motivate my engagement within the School Assembly and the Faculty Council, I would like to highlight my background and experience at EPFL. With fourteen years of experience within the institution, an intentionally atypical professional trajectory, and a background in the humanities, I bring a transversal and original perspective that I am keen to place at the service of the School Assembly and the STI Faculty.Throughout my career at EPFL, I have held administra
Gabriela Tejada GuerreroGabriela has extensive expertise in international cooperation in education, research and innovation. She joined EPFL as scientist at the Cooperation and Development Center (CODEV) where she led the EPFL Leading House Program (2014-2017) of the Swiss government, which upheld Swiss bilateral research cooperation with Brazil, India, Vietnam and Latin America. Her research focused on scientific diasporas and skilled migration with diverse international collaborations under her leadership. She worked at the University of Zurich, and the UNDP in Moldova and Geneva, and taught at the Monterrey Institute of Technology (ITESM). She was visiting researcher at the CES at Harvard University and the CIS at ETH Zurich. Gabriela obtained a BA in International Relations from the UIA (Ibero) in Mexico, and a PhD in Political Sciences from the UAB in Barcelona. She obtained a CAS IPA - International Policy and Advocacy of the D-MTEC, ETH Zurich (2019). Since 2020 Gabriela is Vice-President of the Swiss Commission for UNESCO (member since 2016), where she promotes science-society linkages and advocates for an inclusive development and dialogue through education, science and culture.Since May 2019, Gabriela is Academic Deputy at the Direction of the College of Humanities (CDH).
