Combining superconducting resonators and quantum dots has triggered tremendous progress in quantum information, however, attempts at coupling a resonator to even charge parity spin qubits have resulted only in weak spin-photon coupling. Here, we integrate ...

Mechanical oscillators can exhibit modes with ultra-low energy dissipation and compact form factors due to the slow velocity of acoustic waves, and are already used in applications ranging from timing to wireless filters. Over the past decade, novel ways i ...

Advancing quantum technologies depends on the precise control of individual quantum systems, the so-called qubits, and the exploitation of their quantum properties. Nowadays, expanding the number of qubits to be entangled is at the core of the developments ...

Lanthanide atoms on surfaces are an exceptional platform for atomic-scale magnetic information storage. However, their potential as qubits remains unexplored due to the limited number of experimental setups that can coherently drive the spins of single ada ...

Quantum computation (QC) is one of the most challenging quantum technologies that promise to revolutionize data computation in the long-term by outperforming the classical supercomputers in specific applications. Errors will hamper this quantum revolution ...

The impressive pace of advance of quantum technology calls for robust and scalable techniques for the characterization and validation of quantum hardware. Quantum process tomography, the reconstruction of an unknown quantum channel from measurement data, r ...

Frequency-bin qubits get the best of time-bin and dual-rail encodings, but require external modulators and pulse shapers to build arbitrary states. Here, instead, the authors work directly on-chip by controlling the interference of biphoton amplitudes gene ...

The reproducibility of qubit parameters is a challenge for scaling up superconducting quantum processors. Signal cross talk imposes constraints on the frequency separation between neighboring qubits. The frequency uncertainty of transmon qubits arising fro ...

Quantum computing has made significant progress in recent years, with Google and IBM releasing quantum computers with 72 and 50 qubits, respectively. Google has also achieved quantum supremacy with its 54-qubit device, and IBM has announced the release of ...

Spin qubits in silicon and germanium quantum dots are promising platforms for quantum computing, but entangling spin qubits over micrometer distances remains a critical challenge. Current prototypical architectures maximize transversal interactions between ...

We report the experimental nondemolition measurement of coherence, predictability and concurrence on a system of two qubits. The quantum circuits proposed by De Melo et al. (Phys Rev Lett 98(25):250501, 2007) are implemented on IBM Q (superconducting circu ...

We propose a variational quantum algorithm to study the real-time dynamics of quantum systems as a ground -state problem. The method is based on the original proposal of Feynman and Kitaev to encode time into a register of auxiliary qubits. We prepare the ...

The enormous advancements in the ability to detect and manipulate single quantum states have lead to the emerging field of quantum technologies. Among these, quantum computation is the most far-reaching and challenging, aiming to solve problems that the cl ...

Quantum computing promises to revolutionize our lives, achieving unprecedented computational powers and unlocking new possibilities in drug discovery, chemical simulations and cryptography. The fundamental unit of computation of a quantum computer is the q ...

Quantum computing could potentially offer faster solutions for some of today's classically intractable problems using quantum processors as computational support for quantum algorithms [1]. Quantum processors, in the most frequent embodiment, comprise an a ...

We propose a scheme for universal quantum computing based on Kramers rare-earth ions. Their nuclear spins in the presence of a Zeeman-split electronic crystal field ground state act as "passive" qubits that store quantum information. The "active" qubits ar ...

Quantum computing holds the promise to solve many of today's intractable problems. A solid-state quantum computer (QC) is generally made of an array of qubits implemented in one of many solid-state technologies and operating at deep-cryogenic temperatures ...

Quantum computing is one of the great scientific challenges of the 21st century. Small-scale systems today promise to surpass classical computers in the coming years and to enable the solution of classically intractable computational tasks in the fields of ...

In this letter, we characterize the electrical properties of commercial bulk 40-nm MOSFETs at room and deep cryogenic temperatures, with a focus on quantum information processing (QIP) applications. At 50 mK, the devices operate as classical FETs or quantu ...

The design of a large-scale quantum computer requires co-optimization of both the quantum bits (qubits) and their control electronics. This work presents the first systematic design of such a controller to simultaneously and accurately manipulate the state ...
