The first observation of the Σ^{+}→pμ^{+}μ^{-} decay is reported with high significance using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb^{-1}, collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. A y ...

Maximizing fusion performance in tokamaks relies on high energy confinement, often achieved through distinct operating regimes. The automated labeling of these confinement states is crucial to enable large-scale analyses or for real-time control applicatio ...

Effective building-energy retrofits are needed to enhance the energy efficiency of existing buildings. However, discrepancies between predicted and actual energy demand, known as the performance gap, undermine retrofit effectiveness. This work addresses th ...

We survey recent contributions to finite element exterior calculus on manifolds and surfaces, giving a comprehensive formalism for the error analysis of vector-valued partial differential equations on manifolds. We first discuss uniformly bounded commuting ...

Bianisotropic metasurfaces empower planarized optical components with subwavelength thicknesses that are not amenable to conventional optics. In particular, bianisotropy gives control over the spatial dispersion and allows engineering of both spectral and ...

We present a measurement of the integrated luminosity of e(+) e(-) collision data collected by the BESIII detector at the BEPCII collider at a center-of-mass energy of E-cm = 3.773 GeV. The integrated luminosities of the datasets taken from December 2021 t ...

In this paper, we study a suitable experimental design of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) to reduce the number of frequency points while not significantly affecting the uncertainties of the estimated cell's equivalent circuit model (ECM) param ...

Digital nations are embedded in a globally connected civilization largely supported by centralized technology mostly designed with an exported ideology. Our aim is to transform education to enable the conditions for regional innovation and sustainability. ...

Given the large amount of time we spend indoors, designing and operating buildings that are safe, comfortable, and conducive to productivity and well-being is essential. To achieve this goal, in the past decades, research has been conducted to investigate ...

The p-Laplacian problem -del & sdot; ((mu + |del u|(p-2))del u) = f is considered, where mu is a given positive number. An anisotropic a posteriori residual-based error estimator is presented. The error estimator is shown to be equivalent, up to higher ord ...

We prove a frequency-independent bound on trigonometric functions of a class of singular Gaussian random fields, which arise naturally from weak universality problems for singular stochastic PDEs. This enables us to reduce the regularity assumption on the ...

The subthreshold swing (SS) of MOSFETs decreases with temperature and then saturates below a critical temperature. Hopping conduction via the band tail has been proposed as the possible cause for the SS saturation. On the other hand, numerical simulations ...

Ozone is a commonly applied disinfectant and oxidantin drinkingwater and has more recently been implemented for enhanced municipalwastewater treatment for potable reuse and ecosystem protection. Onedrawback is the potential formation of bromate, a possible ...

on-uniform fiber distribution can significantly reduce the extension of multiple-cracking and favor crack local-izations in Ultra-High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete (UHPFRC) members under tension with important implication on the sought durability. ...

Non-Newtonian fluids are present in most manufacturing industry processes. Computa-tional models used to describe the rheological behavior of such materials can be costly due to the non-linear behavior of the viscosity. This work presents a parametrized pr ...
