Methods are disclosed for creation of vector signaling codes having reduced or minimized electromagnetic emissions when transmitted over multiple conductor communications media such as microstrip channels. Particular code formulation constraints are shown ...

We prove that when a class of partial differential equations, generalized from the cable equation, is defined on tree graphs and the inputs are restricted to a spatially discrete, well chosen set of points, the Green's function (GF) formalism can be rewrit ...

We present a review and comparison of different models representing the frequency dependence of the soil electrical parameters (conductivity and permittivity). These models are expressed in terms of curve-fit expressions for the soil conductivity and relat ...

This paper proposes a novel, low-profile UWB antenna for wireless body area network (WBAN) applications. The antenna has a polarization perpendicular to the body-free-space interface, which is interesting in order to minimize the coupling into the body. It ...

The aim of this document is to provide an extended description and application guide of methods belonging to the so-called Numerical Electromagnetic Analysis (NEA) applied to the calculation of electromagnetic transients in power systems. As known, the acc ...

This paper presents a new method based on the electromagnetic time-reversal (EMTR) theory for locating faults in power networks. The applicability of the EMTR technique to locate faults is first discussed. Using the classical transmission-line equations in ...

The ITER feeders are the components that connect the ITER magnet systems located inside the main cryostat to the cryogenics, power-supply and control system interfaces outside the cryostat. The feeder busbars rely on the Cable-In-Conduit Conductor (CICC) d ...

In Control System Theory, the study of continuous-time, finite dimensional, underdetermined systems of ordinary differential equations is an important topic. Classification of systems in different categories is a natural initial step to the analysis of a g ...

We discuss the transmission line (TL) theory and its application to the problem of lightning electromagnetic field coupling to TLs. We start with the derivation of the general field-to-TL coupling equations for the case of a single-wire line above a perfec ...

A frequency-domain method is proposed for the transient analysis of grounding systems with ionized soil. The method involves two stages. First, the grounding system is transformed into a nonlinear equivalent circuit, in which the frequency-domain circuit p ...
