This PhD thesis aims at testing one of the fundamental properties of the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics: the lepton flavour universality (LFU), which states that

bosons are equally coupled to the three lepton generations. In this work, ...

In this manuscript we consider the problem of kernel classification. While worst-case bounds on the decay rate of the prediction error with the number of samples are known for some classifiers, they often fail to accurately describe the learning curves of ...

Microcavity polaritons are strongly interacting hybrid light-matter quasiparticles, which are promising for the development of novel light sources and active photonic devices. Here, we report polariton lasing in the UV spectral range in microring resonator ...

Social media studies often collect data retrospectively to analyze public opinion. Social media data may decay over time and such decay may prevent the collection of the complete dataset. As a result, the collected dataset may differ from the complete data ...

Semiconductor nanocrystals feature multiply-excited states that display intriguing physics and significantly impact nanocrystal-based technologies. Fluorescence supplies a natural probe to investigate these states. Still, direct observation of multiexciton ...

We outline the growth mechanismand shape evolution of GaAsnanoridges by selective area MOVPE with three well-identified, distinctstages of growth. ...

A search is reported for pairs of light Higgs bosons (H-1) produced in supersymmetric cascade decays in final states with small missing transverse momentum. A data set of LHC pp collisions collected with the CMS detector at root s = 13 TeV and correspondin ...

The tension between different determinations of the CKM matrix element Vub using measurements of either exclusive or inclusive semileptonic decays represents a long-standing puzzle in flavour physics. To resolve this, measurements of new exclusive channels ...

Semiconductor materials have given rise to today's digital technology and consumer electronics. Widespread adoption is closely linked to the ability to process and integrate them in devices at scale. Where flexibility and large surfaces are required, such ...

A search for the standard model (SM) Higgs boson (H) produced with transverse momentum (p(T)) greater than 450 GeV and decaying to a charm quark-antiquark (c (c) over bar) pair is presented. The search is performed using proton-proton collision data collec ...
