Quantum matter phases may coexist microscopically even when they display competing tendencies. A fundamental question is whether such a competition can be avoided through the elimination of one phase while the other one condenses into the ground state. Her ...

Despite their synthetic interest and potential attractive properties, the preparation of heteroleptic U(III) complexes containing monodentate ligands remains challenging. Here we report the synthesis, structure and magnetic properties of three heteroleptic ...

NMR spectroscopy is a very powerful tool for investigating chemical systems at the atomic level because of its ability to provide information on the local environment and dynamics of the nuclei. Because of this, NMR has become one of the most popular analy ...

In this study, we report the synthesis and full characterization of five novel ruthenium(II) cymene complexes with the general formula [Ru(cym)(L’)Cl], featuring N,O- and N,N-coordinating pyrazolone-based hydrazone ligands. We have characterized these comp ...

Context. Radio observations have revealed magnetic fields in the intracluster medium (ICM) of galaxy clusters, and their energy density is nearly in equipartition with the turbulent kinetic energy. This suggests magnetic field amplification by dynamo proce ...

We extend the recently proposed semi-Lagrangian algorithm for the extremely anisotropic heat transport equation [Chacón et al., J. Comput. Phys., 272 (2014)] to deal with arbitrary magnetic field topologies. The original scheme (which showed remarkable num ...

Flexoelectricity is universal in all dielectrics, effective at high temperatures, and a promising transduction technique for nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS). However, as flexoelectricity is still in its early stages, many aspects require further inves ...

Characterization of native structures of proteins in the gas phase remains challenging due to the unpredictable conformational changes the molecules undergo during desolvation and ionization. We spectroscopically studied cryogenically cooled protonated pro ...

(13)C magnetic resonance spectroscopy (MRS) combined with the administration of (13)C labeled substrates uniquely allows to measure metabolic fluxes in vivo in the brain of humans and rats. The extension to mouse models may provide exclusive prospect for t ...
