Optical sensors represent a large growing market which is nowadays focusing onto advancement in mobile technology. Innovations in the field of optical sensors are mostly driven by the technological advancements in the domain of micro & nanofabrication. One ...

The optical dispersive prism is a well-studied element, which allows separating white light into its constituent spectral colors, and stands in nature as water droplets. In analogy to this definition, the acoustic dispersive prism should be an acoustic dev ...

In this paper, we both experimentally and numerically introduce a dual-resonant metamaterial based on subwavelength Jerusalem cross-shaped apertures. We numerically investigate the physical origin of the dual-resonant behavior, originating from the constit ...

We present a compact and multi-resonant aperture system supporting large local electromagnetic fields, which is highly advantageous for applications demanding high signal-to-noise ratio. The system is composed of subwavelength H-shaped apertures with exten ...

Efficient light management is one of the key issues in modern energy conversion systems, be it to collect optical power or to redistribute light generated by high power light emitters. This thesis touches mainly on the subject of efficient light redistribu ...

Optical coherence tomography (OCT) and optical coherence microscopy (OCM) allow the acquisition of quantitative three-dimensional axial flow by estimating the Doppler shift caused by moving scatterers. Measuring the velocity of red blood cells is currently ...

Following rapid developments in biotechnology and medicine, optical sensing promises to be extremely important in various applications such as drug discovery, environmental monitoring, etc. Refractive index (RI) based optical sensing is straightforward to ...
