Water splitting offers the opportunity for storing solar energy and, thus, producing carbon-neutral and renewable solar fuels. The process, known as artificial photosynthesis, is limited by the electrocatalytic conversion of water into molecular oxygen. El ...

The inferior power conversion efficiency (PCE) compared to their regular counterparts (n-i-p) and undesirable stability issues of inverted (p-i-n) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are the foremost issues hindering their commercialization. Here, for the first ...

Oxide is an attractive linker for building polymetallic complexes that provide molecular models for metal oxide activity, but studies of these systems are limited to metals in high oxidation states. Herein, we synthesized and characterized the molecular an ...

Lanthanides (Ln) usually occur in the +3, or more recently the +2, oxidation states. The only example of an isolated molecular Ln(4+) so far remains Ce4+. Here we show that the +4 oxidation state is also accessible in a molecular compound of terbium as dem ...

A highly stable nanocomposite of antioxidant activity was developed by immobilization of a superoxide dismutase-mimicking metal complex on copolymer-functionalized nanoclay. The layered double hydroxide (LDH) nanoclays were synthesized and surface modifica ...

Densely substituted fused aromatic triazenes can be prepared by [2 + 2 + 2] cyclotrimerization reactions of 1-alkynyl triazenes. The Cp*Ru-catalyzed cyclization proceeds well with both simple alkynyl triazenes and tethered 1-diynyl triazenes. Attractively, ...

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are coordination polymer materials in which inorganic metal ions or clusters are linked with multitopic organic ligands by means of coordination bonds. Their structural versatility allows for design of materials based on pre ...

Continuous hydrothermal flow synthesis (CHFS) is a facile, upscalable and cost-efficient synthetic method enabling the nanostructuring of advanced functional materials in steady conditions, i.e. not in batch synthesis. In this paper, we use CHFS to crystal ...

Natural systems have marvelously utilized copper complexes featuring sulfur-coordinating ligands, known as blue copper proteins, as efficient electron-transfer mediators in biological processes. Copper complexes with sulfur-coordinating ligands have been a ...

Photovoltaic (PV) technologies attract a lot of attention as a result of the increasing energy demand and environmental concerns stemming from the conventional energy resources. Accordingly, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) values of various solar ene ...
