In this work, we studied the potential of using thin films deposited by plasma-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD) for two main purposes: introducing an n-type passivating contact at the front of a TOPCon solar cell, or simplifying the fabrication o ...

This study explores the differences in performance and results by various versions of the ISORROPIA thermodynamic module implemented within the ECHAM/MESSy Atmospheric Chemistry (EMAC) model. Three different versions of the module were used, ISORROPIA II v ...

This paper analyzes the findings obtained when applying a multi-criteria performance-based method for sizing a BIPV installation considering different weather files, representing historical data (TMY; typical meteorological year) and prospective data (thre ...

Heterojunction carrier selective contacts for solar cells have gained great attention because of the ability of these contacts to efficiently collect majority carriers while hindering the recombination of minority carriers, thus resulting in the highest re ...

A Spiro fluorene-based dopant-free hole-transporting material denoted as Spiro-IA has been designed and developed from inexpensive starting materials with high yield via a simple synthetic approach for application in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). The unit ...

Perovskite solar cell (PSC) technology is the flag bearer for the future of photovoltaics allowing unlimited possibilities for its application. This technology is currently limited by issues related to its scale-up, stability and the composition of the mat ...

Three hole transport materials (HTMs) based on a substituted triphenylamine moiety have been synthesized and successfully employed in triple-cation mixed-halide PSCs, reaching efficiencies of 19.4 %. The efficiencies, comparable to those obtained using spi ...

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) based on Cu-II/I bipyridyl or phenanthroline complexes as redox shuttles have achieved very high open-circuit voltages (V-OC, more than 1 V). However, their short-circuit photocurrent density (J(SC)) has remained modest. ...

The inferior power conversion efficiency (PCE) compared to their regular counterparts (n-i-p) and undesirable stability issues of inverted (p-i-n) perovskite solar cells (PSCs) are the foremost issues hindering their commercialization. Here, for the first ...

the most studied perovskite‑based solar cells reported up to date contain the toxic lead in its composition. photovoltaic research and development towards non‑toxic, lead‑free perovskite solar cells are critical to finding alternatives to reduce human heal ...

The presence of the oligochaete species Quistadrilus multisetosus (Smith, 1900) originating from North America has been mentioned for several decades in Europe, the Middle East and Russia. Its distribution and abundance in Europe is still unknown but it ca ...

Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) have attracted a substantial interest in the last 30 years for the conversion of solar power to electricity. An important component is the redox mediator effecting the transport of charge between the photoelectrode and th ...

CuSCN thin films (optimized previously for perovskite photovoltaics) are deposited on glass, F:SnO2 (FTO), Au, glass-like carbon (GC), and reduced graphene oxide (rGO). They exhibit capacitive charging in an electrochemical window from ca. -0.3 to 0.2 V vs ...

Deployable structures are widely used in space applications such as solar arrays and antennas. Recently, inspired by origami, more deployable structures have been developed. This paper outlined a novel design scheme for deployable structures by taking a pl ...

The pathway of the oxygen evolution reaction at the Pt(111)/water interface is disclosed through constant Fermi level molecular dynamics. Upon the application of a positive bias potential H2Oads and OHads adsorbates are found to arrange in a hexagonal latt ...

High frequency wind time series measured at different heights from the ground (from 1.5 to 25.5 meters) in an urban area were investigated by using the variance of the coefficients of their wavelet transform. Two ranges of scales were identified, sensitive ...

New star-shaped benzotrithiophene (BTT)-based hole-transporting materials (HTM) BTT-1, BTT-2 and BTT-3 have been obtained through a facile synthetic route by crosslinking triarylamine-based donor groups with a benzotrithiophene (BTT) core. The BTT HTMs wer ...

Ionic liquid electrolytes are prepared using sulfolane as a plasticizer for eutectic melts to realize highly stable and efficiently performing dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) in hot climate conditions. Variations in the viscosity of the formulations with ...

Silicon heterojunction solar cells are crystalline silicon-based devices in which thin amorphous silicon layers deposited on the wafer surfaces serve as passivated, carrier-selective contacts. The success of this technology is attributable to the ability o ...

We consider the problem of learning multi-ridge functions of the form f (x) = g(Ax) from point evaluations of f. We assume that the function f is defined on an l(2)-ball in R-d, g is twice continuously differentiable almost everywhere, and A is an element ...
