The antisolvent-assisted spin-coating still lags behind the thermal evaporation method in fabricating perovskite films atop industrially textured silicon wafers in making monolithic perovskite/silicon solar cells (P/S-TSCs). The inhomogeneity of hole-selec ...

Excitons play an essential role in the optical response of two-dimensional materials. These are bound states showing up in the band gaps of many-body systems and are conceived as quasiparticles formed by an electron and a hole. By performing real-time simu ...

Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have garnered significant attention within the photovoltaic research community due to their remarkable progress in just one decade. Among the device configurations, the p-i-n structured PSC offers several advantages, including ...

In semiconductors, exciton or charge carrier diffusivity is typically described as an inherent material property. Here, we show that the transport of excitons among CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals (NCs) depends markedly on how recently those NCs were occup ...

Structure determination of amorphous materials remains challenging, owing to the disorder inherent to these materials. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) powder crystallography is a powerful method to determine the structure of molecular solids, but disorder ...

Recently, inorganic nanoparticles have been studied as hole transporting materials (HTM) in perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Inorganic HTMs are believed to provide better stability compared to conventional organic HTMs, such as spiro-OMeTAD. One of the chall ...

Solar powered redox cells (SPRCs) are promising for large-scale and long-term storage of solar-energy, particularly when coupled with redox flow batteries (RFBs). While efforts have primarily focused on heterostructure engineering, the potential of synergi ...

Halide perovskites have gained tremendous attention over the past decade, but the poor stability of perovskite solar cells (PSCs) under operating conditions hampers their practical application. This thesis investigates materials that can be used to enhance ...

Layered hybrid organic-inorganic perovskite (LHOIP) materials are an emerging class of semiconductors endorsed as a more stable alternative compared to the more widely investigated 3D hybrid organic-inorganic halide perovskites (HOIP). Consisting of altern ...

Transition-metal dichalcogenide bilayers exhibit a rich exciton landscape including layer-hybridized excitons, i.e. excitons which are of partly intra- and interlayer nature. In this work, we study hybrid exciton-exciton interactions in naturally stacked W ...

Polymeric semiconductors have gained significant attention in the field of organic electronics due to their unique properties and potential applications. Through their ability to transport charge carriers and to absorb or emit light, they have attracted mu ...

Solar energy is the most abundant energy source, harnessing solar energy holds the solution to the challenge of increasing global energy demand and reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. Photovoltaics which directly convert solar energy into electricity ...

Over the past decade, lead halide perovskites (LHPs) have received considerable attention thanks to their impressive optoelectronic properties. Today, LHP-based devices are one of the most efficient single-junction solar cells, with power-conversion effici ...

In recent years, the dramatic increase in power conversion efficiency (PCE) coupled with a decrease in the total cost of third-generation solar cells has led to a significant increase in the collaborative research efforts of academic and industrial researc ...

Over the last few years, thanks to rapid development of molecular engineering and perovskite composition, it has allowed extremely promising solar energy conversion to achieve a certified power conversion efficiency (PCE) of over 25% for perovskite solar c ...

The capture and conversion of solar energy into other useful forms has been the topic of discussion for the past few decades, accentuated by the need to combat climate change and face the challenge of non-renewability of conventional sources of fuel for ou ...

Heterostructures involving two-dimensional/three-dimensional (2D/3D) perovskites have recently attracted increased attention due to their ability to combine the high photovoltaic performance of 3D perovskites with the increased stability of 2D perovskites. ...

Hot exciton materials have the potential to improve the quantum efficiency of organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) by promoting high reversed intersystem crossing (hRISC) between a high-lying triplet (T-n, n >= 2) and a radiative singlet (S-m). In recent ...

The migration of mobile ions has long been considered a source of performance degradation in devices based on halide perovskites, but details regarding the mechanisms and extent of this problem remain scarce. Here we report the finding that differences in ...

A new and promising technology has emerged to compete with traditional silicon photovoltaic semiconductors. The low material and processing costs and high-power conversion efficiencies of organic-inorganic metal halide perovskites make these a promising te ...
