Silicon nitride (Si3N4) is commonly employed to integrate third-order nonlinear optical processes on a chip. Its amorphous state, however, inhibits significant second-order nonlinear response. Recently, second-harmonic generation enhancement has been obser ...

We propose an extensive discussion on the homogenization and scattering analysis of the second-order nonlinear metasurfaces. Our developments are based on the generalized sheet transition conditions (GSTCs) that are used to model the electromagnetic respon ...

The integration of new materials mediating light-matter interaction in nanoscale devices is a persistent goal in nanophotonics. One of these materials is Gallium phosphide, which offers an attractive combination of a high refractive index (n=3.05 at a wave ...

Cloaking via transformation optics was introduced by Pendry, Schurig, and Smith for the Maxwell system and Leonhardt in the geometric optics setting. They used a singular change of variables which blows up a point into a cloaked region. The same transforma ...

Silicon nitride has emerged as a prominent platform for building photonics integrated circuits. While its nonlinear properties based on third-order effects have been successfully exploited, an efficient second harmonic generation in standard stoichiometric ...

Optical second harmonic generation (SHG) from nanostructured graphene has been studied in the framework of classical electromagnetism using a surface integral equation method. Single disks and dimers are considered, demonstrating that the nonlinear convers ...

Eigenmodes are central to the study of resonant phenomena in all areas of physics. However, their use in nano-optics seems to have been hindered and delayed for various reasons. First, due to their small size, the response of nanostructures to a far-field ...

In this work, we investigate the generation of second- harmonic light by gold nanorods and demonstrate that the collected nonlinear intensity depends upon a phase interplay between di ff erent modes available in the nanostructure. By recording the backward ...

During the last decade, important attention has been devoted to the observation of nonlinear optical processes in plasmonic nanosystems, giving rise to a new field of research called nonlinear plasmonics. The cornerstone of nonlinear plasmonics is the use ...

Optical-frequency combs, that is spectra of equidistant coherent optical lines, have revolutionized the precision measurements of time and frequency. In 2007 a new method to generate optical frequency combs was discovered. In contrast to conventional gener ...

Many molecule bonds have vibration frequencies in the mid-infrared band. Thus, this band is of great interest to molecular spectroscopy, material processing and medical applications. However, many optical materials typically used for laser sources experien ...

Rectangular arrays of pyramidal recesses coated by silver film are investigated by means of polarization-resolved nonlinear microscopy at 900 nm fundamental wavelength, demonstrating strong dependence of the dipole-allowed SHG upon the lattice parameters. ...

In this article we compare the two-photon photoluminescence and second harmonic generation from single connected gold nanodimers. Analyzing the particle size-dependent nonlinear optical spectra and performing excitation polarization resolved measurements u ...

We investigate the effect of temperature and light soaking on the stability and charge carrier behavior in triple cation 3-Dimensional (3D) and 2-Dimensional (2D)/3-Dimensional perovskite solar cells (PSCs) using electric field induced second harmonic gene ...
