A search for long-lived heavy neutral leptons (HNLs) using proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb−1 collected at s = 13 TeV with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC is presented. Events are selected with a charged lep ...

The first observation of the Σ^{+}→pμ^{+}μ^{-} decay is reported with high significance using proton-proton collision data, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4 fb^{-1}, collected with the LHCb detector at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. A y ...

A method is presented to reconstruct charged particles with lifetimes between 10ps and 10ns, which considers a combination of their decay products and the partial tracks created by the initial charged particle. Using the Ξ- baryon as a benchmark, the metho ...

Spontaneous vibrational Raman scattering is a ubiquitous form of light-matter interaction whose description necessitates quantization of the electromagnetic field. It is usually considered an incoherent process since it stems from the fluctuations of the v ...

In this paper, we experimentally demonstrate the ability to move an object in disordered and dynamic media by using acoustic waves for transferring linear or angular momentum to the object. In contrast to the remarkable results that have been achieved in o ...

A novel beam profiler based on microstructured scintillation resin is presented. The detector consists of a bundle of waveguides, featuring an active area of 30 x 30 mm2 with a fill factor of 50% and a pitch of 400 mu m. This configuration is obtained by c ...

Abstract: The radiative decays χc1(3872) → ψ(2S) γ and χc1(3872) → J/ψγ are used to probe the nature of the χc1(3872) state using proton-proton collision data collected with the LHCb detector, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1. Using the ...

The production cross-section of J/psi pairs in proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 13TeV is measured using a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 4.2 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment. The measurement i ...

The first observation of the decay Xi(-)(b) -> psi(2S)Xi(-) and measurement of the branching ratio of Xi(-)(b) -> psi(2S)Xi(-) to Xi(-)(b) -> J/psi Xi(-) are presented. The J/psi and psi(2S) mesons are reconstructed using their dimuon decay modes. The resu ...

The ever-increasing demand for training and inferring with larger machine-learning models requires more efficient hardware solutions due to limitations such as power dissipation and scalability. Optics is a promising contender for providing lower power com ...

Bianisotropic metasurfaces empower planarized optical components with subwavelength thicknesses that are not amenable to conventional optics. In particular, bianisotropy gives control over the spatial dispersion and allows engineering of both spectral and ...

The excitation of the ^{181m}Ta isomer in the laser-plasma scenario was claimed to have been observed more than two decades ago. However, the reported experimental findings-and the respective high excitation rate-were later questioned as they could not be ...
