The SPC team has proposed a design for the Toroidal Field (TF) coil of the DEMO tokamak based on the use of react & wind (R&W) Nb3Sn superconductor. Thanks to the grading of both the superconductor and the steel in the jackets the size of the TF coil was c ...

Exhausting power from the hot fusion core to the plasma-facing components is one fusion energy's biggest challenges. The MAST Upgrade tokamak uniquely integrates strong containment of neutrals within the exhaust area (divertor) with extreme divertor shapin ...

L-mode negative triangularity (NT) operation is a promising alternative to the positive triangularity (PT) H-mode as a high-confinement edge localised mode-free operational regime. In this work, two TCV Ohmic L-mode core density ramps with opposite triangu ...

Good fast ion confinement in quasi-isodynamic stellarators still has to be demonstrated experimentally. In the absence of fusion alphas, auxiliary heating systems can be used to generate fast ions. For this purpose, W7-X has neutral beam injection and its ...

Within the R&D program on the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) Poloidal Field (PF) coils, a full size conductor sample was tested in the SULTAN facility (CRPP Villigen, Switzerland). This sample is composed of two straight ITER-like ...
