Founders benefit from identifying with their founding teams because identification facilitates cooperation in the team, aligns founders' actions with the norms and interests of the team, and, ultimately, enhances team performance. High identification with ...

In the postwar years, petroleum products pervaded more and more aspects of Western European life. In this article, we study the origins of this pervasive petroculture through the lens of the Marshall Plan/European Recovery Program (ERP), its Refinery Expan ...

Impressive Imidacloprid (IMD) degradation and bacterial inactivation were attained through the photocatalytic activation of peroxymonosulfate (PMS) via a novel, N-doped MgO@Fe3O4, under visible light. After complete characterization (XPS, XRD, FT-IR, FE-SE ...

After ratcheting attracted attention mostly due to practical real-world protocols, recently a line of work studied ratcheting as a primitive from a theoretic point of view. Literature in this line, pursuing the strongest security of ratcheting one can hope ...

For clinical applications, simplicity, high efficiency, and low toxicity are key issues in the design of anti-tumor drugs. In this work, a novel dual-responsive drug self-framed delivery system (DSFDS) with high drug delivery efficiency is proposed based o ...

Through experiments and discrete particle method (DPM) simulations we present evidence for the existence of a recirculating structure, that exists near the front of dense granular avalanches, and is known as a breaking size-segregation (BSS) wave. This is ...

Recently, there has been an increased interest in capture, processing and rendering of visual content in form of point clouds. Among other challenges, subjective and objective quality evaluation of point clouds are still open problems. Most proposed subjec ...

We present an outline of the field of Multilevel Design Understanding by first defining and motivating the related problems, and then describing the key issues which must be addressed in future research. ...

Ruthenium(II)-arene RAPTA-type compounds have been extensively explored for their medicinal properties. Herein a comprehensive review of this class of compounds is provided. A discussion of the basic RAPTA structure is given together with the ways it has b ...

Distance bounding protocols become more and more important because they are the most accurate solution to defeat relay attacks. They consist of two parties: a verifier and a prover. The prover shows that (s)he is close enough to the verifier. In some appli ...

A significant number of pictures are posted to social media sites or exchanged through instant messaging and cloud-based sharing services. Most social media services offer a range of access control mechanisms to protect users privacy. As it is not in the b ...

For more than a decade managers, academics, educators and politicians have indicated that innovation is the key to our future. As a result, we find a plethora of innovation initiatives around the world, from university curricula to the mission statements o ...

Aligning data distributions that underwent spectral distortions related to acquisition conditions is a key issue to improve the performance of classifiers applied to multi-temporal and multi-angular images. In this paper, we propose a feature extraction me ...

Semiconductor nanowires are currently at the forefront of research in the areas of nanoelectronics and energy conversion. In all these studies, realising electrical contacts and statistically relevant measurements is a key issue. We propose a method that e ...

Front crawl is an alternating swimming stroke technique in which different phases of arm movement induce changes in acceleration of limbs and body. This study proposes a new approach to use inertial body worn sensors to estimate main temporal phases of fro ...

In this article, the RObject concept is first introduced. This is followed by a survey of applicable energy scavenging technologies. Energy is a key issue for the large scale deployment of robotics in daily life, as recharging the batteries places a consid ...

Kinetic effects have been implemented in the three-dimensional full-wave code LEMan. These allow modeling Landau damping as well as the Kinetic Alfvén Wave (KAW). Special attention has been taken on the exact computation of the parallel wave vector as it c ...

The present study addresses the key issue of linking the chemical speciation to the uptake of priority pollutants Cd(II) and Pb(II) in the wastewater treatment plant effluents, with emphasis on the role of the colloidal organic matter (EfOM). Binding of Cd ...

Purpose: Apoptosis is known to play a key role in cell death after retinal ischemia. However, little is known about the kinetics of the signaling pathways involved and their contribution to this process. The aim of this study was to determine whether chang ...

For recurrent service providers (fast-food, entertainment, medical care,...), retaining loyal customers is obviously a key issue. The customers' loyalty essentially depends on their service satisfaction defined via an ad-hoc utility function. Among several ...
