The Cosmic Dawn Survey (DAWN survey) provides multiwavelength (UV/optical to mid-IR) data across the combined 59 deg2 of the Euclid Deep and Auxiliary fields (EDFs and EAFs). In this work, the first public data release from the DAWN survey is presented. Th ...

The Bluebild algorithm is a new technique for image synthesis in radio astronomy which decomposes the sky into distinct energy levels using functional principal component analysis. These levels can be linearly combined to construct a least-squares estimate ...

We present an implementation of Pop III.1 seeding of supermassive black holes (SMBHs) in a theoretical model of galaxy formation and evolution to assess the growth of the SMBH population and the properties of the host galaxies. The model of Pop III.1 seedi ...

In the Milky Way and other main-sequence galaxies, stars form exclusively in molecular gas, which is traced by CO emission. However, low-metallicity dwarf galaxies are often 'CO-dark' in the sense that CO emission is not observable even at the high resolut ...

The Euclid mission is expected to image millions of galaxies at high resolution, providing an extensive dataset with which to study galaxy evolution. Because galaxy morphology is both a fundamental parameter and one that is hard to determine for large samp ...

Ultra-diffuse galaxies (UDGs) in the Coma cluster have velocity dispersion profiles that are in full agreement with the predictions of modified Newtonian dynamics (MOND) in isolation. However, the external field effect (EFE) from the cluster seriously unde ...

The tip of the red giant branch (TRGB) allows for the measurement of precise and accurate distances to nearby galaxies based on the brightest ascent of low-mass red giant branch stars before they undergo the helium flash. With the advent of JWST, there is ...

We cross-check the Hubble Space Telescope (HST) Cepheid/Type Ia supernova (SN Ia) distance ladder, which yields the most precise local H0, against early James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) subsamples (∼1/4 of the HST sample) from SH0ES and CCHP, calibrated o ...

It has been shown in previous publications that the TNG100 simulation quantitatively reproduces the observed reduction in each of the total atomic and total molecular hydrogen gas for galaxies within massive halos, i.e., dense environments. In this Letter, ...

The Central Molecular Zone (CMZ; the central & SIM;500 pc of the Galaxy) is a kinematically unusual environment relative to the Galactic disc, with high-velocity dispersions and a steep size-linewidth relation of the molecular clouds. In addition, the CMZ ...

Gaia Data Release 3 provides novel flux-calibrated low-resolution spectrophotometry for similar or equal to 220 million sources in the wavelength range 330 nm

We construct cosmic void catalogues with the DIVE void finder upon SDSS BOSS DR12 and eBOSS DR16 galaxy samples with BAO reconstruction, and perform a joint BAO analysis using different types of galaxies and the corresponding voids. The BAO peak is evident ...

Galaxy is a mature, browser accessible workbench for scientific computing. It enables scientists to share, analyze and visualize their own data, with minimal technical impediments. A thriving global community continues to use, maintain and contribute to th ...

MegaMapper is a 6.5m Magellan-like telescope fitted with a wide-field-corrector (WFC) and atmospheric-dispersion-corrector (ADC) that delivers a 3. diameter corrected field-of-view. The telescope's focal surface is populated by similar to 25, 000 robotic f ...

Context. Multi-wavelength, optical to IR/submm observations of strongly lensed galaxies identified by the Herschel Lensing Survey are used to determine the physical properties of high-redshift star-forming galaxies close to or below the detection limits of ...

Context. Interest in the quasar HE 0450-2958 arose following the publication of the non-detection of its expected massive host, leading to various interpretations. ...
