We demonstrate that by a proper design of a system comprising a perovskite solar cell (PSC) coupled to an electrochemical double-layer capacitor (EDLC), it is possible to simultaneously improve both the PSC and EDLC performance and outperform each single u ...

We present a method to determine the location of an applied pressure on a large area, monolithic silicone based capacitive sensor. In contrast to pressure sensor arrays composed of n x n discrete sensors, we utilize a single sensor body with a single instr ...

The local application of mechanical stress in piezoelectric materials gives rise to boundaries across which the electric polarization changes. Polarization charges appear along such polar discontinuities and the ensuing electric fields drive a charge recon ...

The structural, electronic, and dielectric properties of barrier -type anodic Al oxides prepared with various thicknesses have been investigated. The planar and cross morphologies as well as the surface charge distribution were investigated as a function o ...

This thesis advances the field of dielectric elastomer actuators (DEAs) through the development of device designs, fabrication processes, strain characterization technique and modelling tool. It provides the first demonstration that DEAs can be interfaced ...

Scaled microelectromechanical (MEMS) resonating devices have generated a great interest for their use in RF front-end architectures for wireless communication, channel-select filters, on-chip signal processing and timing and extreme mas sensing application ...

High-temperature-resistant inertial sensors are increasingly requested in a variety of fields such as aerospace, automotive and energy. Capacitive detection is especially suitable for sensing at high temperatures due to its low intrinsic temperature depend ...

The ductility and time-dependent recovery of a ductile acrylic adhesive were investigated in this work. The quasi-static true tensile and compressive strain behaviors were examined at different strain rates, taking large deformations into account. Yield st ...

Today automotive industry is demanding more and more compact solutions for embedded electronics to be interfaced with vehicles components such as motor drivers, igniters and car communication buses. That is why Smart Power Integrated Circuits (IC) have bee ...
