This article is dedicated to study the physical causes of a long-standing issue experienced in different tokamak devices throughout the last decades: the observed discrepancies between electron cyclotron emission (ECE) and Thomson Scattering (TS) diagnosti ...

The I-phase is an H-mode confinement regime of tokamaks characterized by limit cycle oscillations, the so-called LCOs or bursts. These bursts are the manifestation of a periodic flattening of the plasma edge pressure profile. The profile flattening is caus ...

We define quantum chaos and integrability in open quantum many-body systems as a dynamical property of single stochastic realizations, referred to as quantum trajectories. This definition relies on the predictions of random matrix theory applied to the sub ...

This thesis investigates the potential of gallium phosphide (GaP) as a platform for advanced integrated photonic devices, leveraging its exceptional optical properties. Significant advantages over traditional materials like silicon nitride (Si3N4) are offe ...

Indolo[3,2-b]carbazole-based hole transporting materials (HTM1-3) are developed for dopant-free pemvskite solar cells (PSCs). The newly synthesized compounds are studied as alternatives of conventional hole-transporting materials which typically require ad ...

Light matter interactions such as extinction, reflection, and transmission can be described by classical optics. Dur-ing the past decades, research focused on a novel resonant extinction type called plasmonics that allows for en-hancement of both types of ...

Due to their exceptional photovoltaic properties, metal halide perovskites (MHPs) are extensively studied for their potential applications in solar cells. In recent years, the power conversion efficiencies of MHPs-based solar cells rapidly increased from t ...

The nonlinear evolution of the ion-ion streaming instability (IISI) is studied using numerical techniques novel to this problem that afford direct insight into the evolution of the particle distributions of each species. During the linear phase of the inst ...

We investigate collisional decay of the axial charge in an electron-photon plasma at temperatures 10 MeV-100 GeV. We demonstrate that the decay rate of the axial charge is first order in the fine-structure constant Gamma(flip) proportional to am(e)(2)/T an ...

Dion-Jacobson (DJ) iodoplumbates based on 1,4-phenylenedimethanammonium (PDMA) have recently emerged as promising light absorbers for perovskite solar cells. While PDMA is one of the simplest aromatic spacers potentially capable of forming a DJ structure b ...

A study of A(b)(0) baryon decays to the DpK(-) final state is presented based on a proton-proton collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb(-1) collected with the LHCb detector. Two A(b)(0) decays are considered, A(b)(0) -> DpK ...

Atomistic modeling of phase transitions, chemical reactions, or other rare events that involve overcoming high free energy barriers usually entails prohibitively long simulation times. Introducing a bias potential as a function of an appropriately chosen s ...
