Business Level Service-Oriented Enterprise Application Integration

Résumé

In this paper we propose a new approach for service-oriented enterprise application integration (EAI). Unlike current EAI solutions, which mainly focus on technological aspects, our approach allows business domain experts to get more involved in the integration process. First, we provide a technique for modeling application services at a sufficiently high level of abstraction for business experts to work with. Next, these business experts can model the orchestration as well as the information mappings that are required to achieve their integration goals. Our mediation framework then takes over and realizes the integration solution by transforming these models to existing service orchestration technology.

Intégration d'applications d'entreprise

L'intégration d'applications d'entreprise ou IAE (en anglais enterprise application integration, EAI) est une architecture intergicielle permettant à des applications hétérogènes de gérer leurs échanges. On la place dans la catégorie des technologies informatiques d'intégration métier (business integration) et d'urbanisation. Sa particularité est d'échanger les données en pseudo temps réel. Par extension, l'abréviation EAI désigne un système informatique permettant de réaliser cette architecture en implémentant les flux interapplicatifs du système d'information.

Architecture orientée services

L'architecture orientée services ou AOS (calque de l'anglais service-oriented architecture, SOA) est une forme d'architecture de médiation qui est un modèle d'interaction applicative qui met en œuvre des services (composants logiciels) : avec une forte cohérence interne (par l'utilisation d'un format d'échange pivot, le plus souvent XML ou JSON) ; des couplages externes « lâches » (par l'utilisation d'une couche d'interface interopérable, le plus souvent un service web WS-*).

It is a concept in enterprise engineering to provide the relevant information and thereby enable communication between people, machines and computers and their efficient co-operation and co-ordination.
