Parametric amplifiers play a crucial role in modern quantum technology by enabling the enhancement of weak signals with minimal added noise. Traditionally, Josephson junctions have been the primary choice for constructing parametric amplifiers. Nevertheles ...

Fundamental constraints imposing power-frequency trade-offs in conventional electronics have stimulated research on alternative technologies for millimeter-wave and sub-millimeter-wave applications. In this work, we use the picosecond threshold firing of n ...

Equalisation, a signal processing technique commonly used to shape the sound of music, is defined as the adjustment of the energy in specific frequency components of a signal. In this work, we investigate the effects of equalisation on preference and senso ...

Gallium Nitride (GaN) and all III-Nitride compounds have revolutionized the world with the development of the blue light emitting diode (LED). In addition, GaN-based epi-structures, such as AlGaN/GaN, enable the fabrication of high electron mobility transi ...

Optical frequency combs have the potential to become key building blocks of wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) communication systems. The strictly equidistant narrow-band spectral lines of a frequency comb can serve either as carriers for parallel WDM ...

Non-linearities introduced by the power amplifier stage can significantly reduce the performance of self-interference cancellation in full-duplex transceivers. Accordingly, we propose a full-duplex system architecture that predistorts the digital baseband ...

This paper presents a fully integrated low power class-E power amplifier and its integration to remotely powered sensor system. The on-chip 1.2 GHz power amplifier is implemented in 0.18 A mu m CMOS process with 0.2 V supply. The implantable system is powe ...

This paper presents a low power fully integrated class-E power amplifier and its integration with remotely powered sensor system. The class-E power amplifier is suitable solution for low-power applications due to its high power efficiency. However, the req ...

A Brillouin probing method is proposed to extract the distribution of signal power along phase-sensitive parametric amplifiers. Operation near the zero-dispersion-wavelength shows enhanced sensitivity to dispersion fluctuations, allowing effective extracti ...

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a method based on Brillouin optical time-domain analysis to measure the longitudinal signal power distribution along phase-sensitive fiber-optical parametric amplifiers (PS-FOPAs). Experimental results show that th ...

This paper presents the effect of coupling between the coils on the power amplifier efficiency and comparisons between the class-C and class-D performance for different coupling conditions. In remotely powered systems, the coupling of the coils can influen ...

A 2.4-GHz low power polar transmitter architecture is proposed in this paper. A dynamic biasing circuit, controlled by a digital envelope signal, is used to linearize the input-output characteristic of the overdriven class-C power amplifier. A model of the ...

A new approach for linear amplification with nonlinear components (Z-LINC) that provides a zero capacitive load to their power amplifiers is proposed. The zero capacitive loading over the whole power back-off range enables to overcome the efficiency deteri ...

Power amplifiers are a highly important component in a range of industrial applications, such as, servo-drives, magnetic resonance imaging, energy systems, and audio. The control system for power amplifiers should satisfy a range of requirements, e. g., of ...

As audio reproduction systems evolve to incorporate many loudspeakers, the potential to evoke faithful auditory spatial impressions increases. Psychoacoustic principles of auditory spatial perception, and methods for production and reproduction of acoustic ...

With the advance in microelectronics and microsystems, better instruments in every domain are designed and built. For many years, scientists have tried to understand nature, and engineers to mimic the perfect design. One example of this is the human knee, ...

A sound field on a line or in a plane has an effectively limited spatial bandwidth determined by the temporal frequency. Similar can be said for sound fields from far-field sources when analyzed on circular and spherical apertures. Namely, for a given freq ...

In this letter we demonstrate the operation of an analog small-signal amplifier based on single-layer MoS2, a semiconducting analogue of graphene. Our device consists of two transistors integrated on the same piece of single-layer MoS2. The high intrinsic ...

We present an alternating current (ac) circuit based on a misoriented bilayer graphene device for analog and digital phase detection. We exploit the ambipolar nature of the transfer characteristics of a misoriented bilayer graphene transistor. The transist ...

A readout method which is suitable for high-density active microelectrode arrays used in electrophysiology experiments is presented. Amplitude modulation of consecutive channels enables simultaneous recording and transmission of the signals recorded on mul ...
