Optimization of heat supply for an entire district at building scale

Résumé

The present report describes the method used for the computation and integration of the energy system which has been built within this semester. All the supplying energy technologies , which have been taken into account are presented. The fundamental equations used during the implementation of the utility models are showed and all the respective references are added. A description of the OSMOSE Lua platformis included focusing on the adopted solving method. The optimization of the energy supplying system is performed on an entire district, thanks to the concept of location. Information coming from different scales (building and district) will be used in order to achieve the goal.

Energy system

An energy system is a system primarily designed to supply energy-services to end-users. The intent behind energy systems is to minimise energy losses to a negligible level, as well as to ensure the efficient use of energy. The IPCC Fifth Assessment Report defines an energy system as "all components related to the production, conversion, delivery, and use of energy". The first two definitions allow for demand-side measures, including daylighting, retrofitted building insulation, and passive solar building design, as well as socio-economic factors, such as aspects of energy demand management and remote work, while the third does not.

Energy development

Energy development is the field of activities focused on obtaining sources of energy from natural resources. These activities include the production of renewable, nuclear, and fossil fuel derived sources of energy, and for the recovery and reuse of energy that would otherwise be wasted. Energy conservation and efficiency measures reduce the demand for energy development, and can have benefits to society with improvements to environmental issues.

Stockage de l'énergie

Le stockage de l'énergie consiste à mettre en réserve une quantité d'énergie provenant d'une source pour une utilisation ultérieure. Il a toujours été utile et pratiqué, pour se prémunir d'une rupture d'un approvisionnement extérieur ou pour stabiliser à l'échelle quotidienne les réseaux électriques, mais il a pris une acuité supplémentaire depuis l'apparition de l'objectif de transition écologique.
