So-called negative capacitance seems to remain an obscure feature in the analysis of the frequency-dependent impedance of perovskite solar cells. It belongs to one of the puzzling peculiarities arising from the mixed ionic-electronic conductivity of this c ...

The global problem of energy supply and the reduction of the carbon footprint can only be solved by a massive replacement of fossil fuels or atomic energy by renewable resources. As the latter are mostly weather-dependent, they are uncontrollable and unpre ...

This work has been triggered because of the need for a new way to relieve the heart. Current solutions are based on invasive systems. The main problem of such assistance is infectious risks. State of the art to define an alternative has allowed highlightin ...

In this paper we explore the technique of “inverse gating” which is a significant improvement over the ”round gating” technique introduced in HOST 2016. Round gating worked by generating timing signals to separate glitch propagation from one circuit elemen ...

In multiwinding transformers, different geometry of the individual windings leads to unbalanced leakage flux paths. The unbalance affects the behavior of the power electronic converters, where these transformers are used. This paper proposes an approach to ...

In this paper, a model for the input impedance of a hot-wire electro-explosive device (EED) based on differential-mode measurements is proposed. The model represents the EED using three transmission line segments in cascade. The characteristics of each seg ...

We present a lumped devices network approach to simulate surface recombination effects in optoelectronics devices. The network is composed of generalized lumped devices where the excess carrier concentrations and gradients are mapped on electrical quantiti ...

This communication introduces a modified substrate integrated waveguide (SIW), the gap SIW, and deduces an approximate closed-form expression for calculating its effective width, taking into account the fringing and coupling fields around the gap. As an im ...

This research presents a high-speed hardware platform dedicated to emulate electrical power networks for the fault location. The solution implements an algorithm based on the Electromagnetic Time-Reversal (EMTR) principle, which allows locating faults in v ...

Label-free approaches to assess cell properties ideally suit the requirements of cell-based therapeutics, since they permit to characterize cells with minimal perturbation and manipulation, at the benefit of sample recovery and re-employment for treatment. ...

Low-frequency electroacoustic absorbers have recently been developed as a solution for the modal equalisation. Firstly investigated in waveguides, the technique consists in matching the acoustic impedance at a closed-box loudspeaker diaphragm to the charac ...

Scaled microelectromechanical (MEMS) resonating devices have generated a great interest for their use in RF front-end architectures for wireless communication, channel-select filters, on-chip signal processing and timing and extreme mas sensing application ...
