Near-infrared luminescent materials have recently received considerable attention for a large number of applications, including in solid-state lighting, as bioimaging agents, as photovoltaic cells, and in the telecommunication industry. By adding diverse e ...

A penta-stranded helicate was obtained by combining Pd(CH3CN)42 with La(NO3)3 and a polydentate ligand. The helicate displays low symmetry, both in solution and in the solid state. A dynamic interconversion between the penta-stranded helicate and a ...

Reaction of Ln(III) with a tetrakis(diketone) ligand H4L [1,1?-(4,4?-(2,2-bis((4-(4,4,4-trifluoro-3-oxobutanoyl) phenoxy)methyl)propane-1,3-diyl)bis(oxy)bis(4,1-phenylene))bis(4,4,4-trifluorobutane-1,3-dione)] gives new podates which, according to mass spe ...

Charged cydometalated (CN) iridium(III) complexes with carbene-based ancillary ligands are a promising family of deep-blue phosphorescent compounds. Their emission properties are controlled primarily by the main CN ligands, in contrast to the classic ...

We report seven heteroleptic cationic iridium(III) complexes with cyclometalating N-arylazoles and alkyl/aryl isocyanides, ((CN)-N-boolean AND)(2)Ir(CNR)(2), and characterize two of them by crystal structure analysis. The complexes are air- and m ...

Organic upconversion devices (OUCs) consist of an organic infrared photodetector and an organic visible light-emitting diode (OLED), connected in series. OUCs convert photons from the infrared to the visible and are of use in applications such as process c ...

Investigations of blue phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on [Ir(2-(2,4-difluorophenyl)pyridine)(2)(picolinate)] (FIrPic) have pointed to the cleavage of the picolinate as a possible reason for device instability. We reproduced the ...

For more than fifteen years, III-nitrides have become the materials of choice for the realization of optoelectronics devices operating in the visible-UV spectral range. Yet, while nitride-based technology has truly exploded, the structural quality of this ...

This invention relates to metal complexes, and the use of such complexes as an electro luminescent material. It also relates to a light-emitting device comprising such metal complexes, and to a method for manufacturing such a light-emitting ...

A new, but archetypal compound [ Ir( ppy- F-2) (2)Me(4)phen] PF6, where ppy- F2 is 2-(2',4'- fluorophenyl) pyridine and Me(4)phen is 3,4,7,8- tetramethyl- 1,10- phenanthroline, was synthesized and used to prepare a solid-state light-emitting electrochemica ...

The work presented in this thesis is focused on the design and discovery of new luminescent, porous, crystalline materials for targeted applications. In particular, we focus on luminescent Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) and Organic Molecules of Intrinsic ...

A series of new mixed-ligand lanthanide complexes [Ln(hfa)3(4-cpyNO)]2 (Ln = SmIII-HoIII and TmIII; hfa- = hexafluoroacetylacetonate; 4-cpyNO = 4-cyanopyridine N-oxide) have been synthesised by treating the corresponding lanthanide hexafluoroacetylacetonat ...

It was about 125 years ago that the light bulb was commercialized by Thomas Edison. No doubt a brilliant invention at the time, today its low power conversion efficiency is one of the reasons why lighting in the western world has such high energy consumpti ...

We have focused on the ability to tune the aluminum (Al) content of the AlGaAs alloy along the growth direction in inverted pyramids (by MOVPE), thus tailoring the potential along a QWR nanostructure. Three parabolic-potential QDs (PQDs) of different poten ...

Only recently organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology has successfully managed the transition from research labs into the consumer market, taking a 60% share of the global mobile display market in 2018. The latest discovery of thermally activated de ...

The development of near-infrared (NIR) photodetection technologies is driven by emerging applications such as medical imaging or optical sensors for electronic displays and machine vision. An all-organic upconverter (OUD) is a device that converts incident ...

Nanoscale variations in the composition of an AlxGa1−xAs shell around a GaAs nanowire affect the nanowire functionality and can lead to the formation of localized quantum emitters. These composition fluctuations can be the consequence of variations of crys ...

Light-Emitting Electrochemical Cells (LECs) with a simple device structure ITO/Ru complex/Ga: In were prepared by using heteroleptic ruthenium(II) complexes containing 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-1(4-bromophenyl)-1h-imidazo[4,5-f][1,10] phenanthroline (hpbpip) as ...

A wide variety of physicochemical processes at a molecular level, in particular charge or energy transfer, electronic and vibrational relaxation, are at the origin of biological functionality of proteins and organometallic compounds. The work reported in t ...
