An angular analysis of the Bs0→ ϕe+e− decay is performed using the proton-proton collision dataset collected between 2011 and 2018 by the LHCb experiment, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 9 fb−1 at centre-of-mass energies of 7, 8 and 13 TeV. Th ...

A measurement of the ratio of branching fractions (Formula presented) in the (Formula presented), (Formula presented) decay channel is presented. This measurement uses a sample of proton-proton collision data collected at a center-of-mass energy of (Formul ...

A search for a new boson X is presented using CERN LHC proton-proton collision data collected by the CMS experiment at root s = 13 TeV in 2016-2018, and corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 138 fb(-1). The resonance X decays into either a pair of H ...

The first search for soft unclustered energy patterns (SUEPs) is performed using an integrated luminosity of 138 fb(-1) of proton-proton collision data at root s = 13 TeV, collected in 2016-2018 by the CMS detector at the LHC. Such SUEPs are predicted by h ...

Using e(+)e(-) collision data collected by the BESIII detector at BEPCII corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 30 fb(-1), we measure Born cross sections and effective form factors for the process e(+)e(-)-> Xi(0)(Xi) over bar (0) at forty-five cente ...

This dataset accompanies the publication "Quantum-mechanical effects in photoluminescence from thin crystalline gold films" published in Light: Science & Applications (https://doi.org/10.1038/s41377-024-01408-2). The data can be used to reproduce plots 1-4 ...

Long-lived particles (LLPs) are very challenging to search for with current detectors and computing requirements due to their very displaced vertices. This study evaluates the ability of the trigger algorithms used in the Large Hadron Collider beauty (LHCb ...

We use numerical bootstrap techniques to study correlation functions of traceless sym-metric tensors of O(N) with two indices ti j. We obtain upper bounds on operator dimen-sions for all the relevant representations and several values of N. We discover sev ...

The branching fraction B(B0→D*-τ+ντ) is measured relative to that of the normalization mode B0→D*-π+π-π+ using hadronic τ+→π+π-π+(π0)ν¯τ decays in proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected by the LHCb experiment, correspon ...

Within the reduced basis methods approach, an effective low-dimensional subspace of a quantum many-body Hilbert space is constructed in order to investigate, e.g., the ground-state phase diagram. The basis of this subspace is built from solutions of snapsh ...

The recent discovery of topologically nontrivial behavior in Co3Sn2S2 stimulated a notable interest in this itinerant ferromagnet (T-C = 174 K). The exact magnetic state remains ambiguous, with several reports indicating the existence of a second transitio ...

Implantable devices for localized and controlled drug release are important, e.g., for therapies of cancer and chronic pain. However, most of the existing active implants are limited by the usage of nonbiodegradable materials; thus, surgery is needed to ex ...

Modeling ferroelectric materials from first principles is one of the successes of density-functional theory and the driver of much development effort, requiring an accurate description of the electronic processes and the thermodynamic equilibrium that driv ...

Liquid-liquid phase-separated (LLPS) aerosol particles are known to exhibit increased cloud condensation nuclei (CCN) activity compared to well-mixed ones due to a complex effect of low surface tension and non-ideal mixing. The relation between the two con ...

Two-dimensional (2D) Xenes of a single type of element can offer fascinating electronic properties, such as massless Dirac fermions for extremely high charge-carrier mobility and topological insulators for dissipationless electron transport. However, the r ...

Brain stroke is an age-related illness which has become a major issue in our ageing societies. Early diagnosis and treatment are of high importance for the full recovery of the patient, as reminded in Anglo-Saxon countries by the abbreviation FAST (Face, A ...

A measurement of the cross-section for W -> e nu production in pp collisions is presented using data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2 fb(-1) collected by the LHCb experiment at a centre-of-mass energy of root s = 8 TeV. The electrons are requ ...

Optoelectronic properties of site-controlled AlGaAs/GaAs quasi-one-dimensional structures are investigated. Controllable linear variation of the band gap along the vertical axis of the quantum wire, symmetrical with respect to its center, results in a set ...

We report measurements of Shubnikov-de Haas oscillations in single crystals of BiTeCl at magnetic fields up to 31 T and at temperatures as low as 0.4 K. Two oscillation frequencies were resolved at the lowest temperatures, F-1 = 65 +/- 4 T and F-2 = 156 +/ ...
