The AIDRES database aims to support the long-term objective of a fully integrated industrial strategy in the EU 27, providing a service to the European Commission and a catalogue for industries to understand the effectiveness, efficiency and cost of potent ...

Modern data-driven science often consists of iterative cycles of data discovery, acquisition, preparation, analysis, model building and validation leading to knowledge discovery as well as dissemination at scale. The unique challenges of building and simul ...

Structure determination of materials is key to understanding their physical properties. While single-crystal X-ray diffraction is the gold standard for structures displaying long-range order, many materials of interest are polycrystalline and/or disordered ...

We present Sudokube, a novel system that supports interactive speed querying on high-dimensional data using partially materialized data cubes. Given a storage budget, it judiciously chooses what projections to precompute and materialize during cube constru ...

A critical component of a successful language generation pipeline is the decoding algorithm. However, the general principles that should guide the choice of a decoding algorithm re- main unclear. Previous works only compare decoding algorithms in narrow sc ...

Purpose: Despite being an authentic carrier of various cultural practices, the human body is often underutilised to access the knowledge of human body. Digital inventions today have created new avenues to open up cultural data resources, yet mainly as appa ...

Language models (LMs) have recently shown remarkable performance on reasoning tasks by explicitly generating intermediate inferences, e.g., chain-of-thought prompting. However, these intermediate inference steps may be in- appropriate deductions from the i ...

Cloud function (CF) services, such as AWS Lambda, have been applied as the new computing infrastructure in implementing analytical query engines. For bursty and sparse workloads, CF-based query engine is more elastic than the traditional query engines runn ...

This paper introduces TACOSS a text-image alignment approach that allows explainable land cover semantic segmentation by directly integrating semantic concepts encoded from texts. TACOSS combines convolutional neural networks for visual feature extraction ...

It is a generally accepted idea that typology is an essential element in the disciplinary dimension of architecture. The concept of typology, in its most common definition, is sufficiently malleable to cover a wide range of uses, but it is also this vaguen ...
